The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

Looks like a snow day here! It's 28* and the white stuff is coming down.

We're gonna have sunny skies and a high of 82 today.

Get on with your bad self.

Hey, I wear my shades too (to keep the snow glare out of my eyes).

Yeah, well it better! I used to be able to get in the car and "Road Trip!!" all day long. Loved driving, going places, and of course being a military mom I had to drive in big cities all the time. Drove by myself from California to Connecticut - twice. It's a 700 mile drive back to Sioux Falls and did that all the time too the first 10 or 15 years we lived here, crossing the mountains and traversing the plains.

But now the last few years I HATE to drive. I am totally deaf in my left ear (note that when we get together, Debby......if I start doing my bobble head imitation it's because I can't hear you) so when a car passes me I sometimes don't even know it's there until it whizzes past me. And my reflexes aren't what they were. Add slick roads to the combination and I'm going to be a basket case if I have to drive in the snow, ice or slush. <sigh>

I'll do my best to make sure you have good weather for the trip Blooie. Now if I can only get my weather controller powers up to snuff...

With some modifications, what do you all think of this coop? DH doesn't have any time to build something but there's a guy in town that can. I was thinking of showing him this coop idea with my changes and getting a price estimate.

What I'd change:
* make the door a bit wider (2.5' instead of 2')
* nesting box on the outside to save inside room
* regular square door instead of the arched door
* no window box
* different roost placement

Don't pay any attention to the run, I have another idea for that.

Opinions? Thoughts?
