Ha, I have 3!! Don't forget Little Diane! And I have the boys, Jamie and Evan. Oh, and the greats, Madelyn and Landyn. I'll share Katie and Kendra with you though. I'm generous that way. Um, how are you at catheterizing a squirming 5 year old, anyway?

Are you getting the Sapphires? I would kill for a couple of the Cream Legbar pullet chicks he just hatched, and he knows it! He dangles them in front of me like candy, doggone it - has for a couple of years now. We just never seem to connect when I'm down that way. When I come down Saturday, I get to see your chicks! Yippeee!! Hope the builder doesn't charge you an arm and a leg for that coop. It's cute, that's for sure, and it would be attractive to look at, which is pretty important when you're trying to stay under the radar a bit. But it seems like "cute" always comes with a price tag. <sigh> You could maybe save a bit by having him build the shell, and then finish up the rest, couldn't you? Like the painting and such?
 
We should get together.....I have 2 coops and a nice big run but no chickens til May 1st. You will have chickens Friday and no coop. Too bad we can't perform some magic and help each other out. Lol

See, you have plenty of g-kids! And poor me, don't have any and not likely to (isn't that a sad story?) Thanks for sharing yours anyway, they're all great!

I wish I could get a couple of the Sapphires but there doesn't seem to be a way to sex them and I really can't have a rooster. I've asked for 2 of the Cream Legbars and 3 of the Welsummers. Bob said he also has a couple of SS left and I'd love to have them but I don't think I could tell a boy from a girl at this stage.

No word back from the builder yet but it's only been a few hours. He's probably still scratching his head trying to make rhyme or reason out of my 'chicken scratches'. I'd gladly settle for plain jane and practical over cute and that's what I've asked him for. Plus, to bring cost down, I said I would do the hardware cloth and all painting. We'll see what he comes back with.

I just got back from town picking up the chick stuff. Other than the plastic thermometer and metal feed container I forgot, got everything. You're more than welcome to come visit them Saturday but I'll warn you, they're going to be in my basement office and see first hand my homey mess. Definitely no pictures or stories allowed about that!

Feeling a bit better today .. dosed up on medication and honey and went to bed early.

I woke up at 6AM .. ?? Huh, no chookie noises? Peeped out the bedroom window, no chookies in the run? While it is a little overcast, it is still light enough that the girls should be up.

So, being the coward that I am, I laid there for a while longer, hoping to see someone come down the ramp. By 06:15AM I decided I needed to suck it up and get out there. Opened the big coop door and was greeted by 5 happy little chookens “Hi Mum, we all sleepings in” Tut
