The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

Good morning friends :hugs

Syba and I thank you for your well wishes; he was very pleased to come home and I think he was a little concerned that we might have been leaving him there [again].

Surprisingly, after all I have read about cats not liking the prescription kidney diet, I mixed it half and half with some of his usual food and he still ate the lot. Hopefully he will accept it without too much issue. Luckily he is a cat who loves his food, unlike his fussy little sister

Sunflour this is a U-pillow [or V Pillow]. I have always slept with one until we moved up here. Because my pillow was getting old, I did not pack it and for the last 4 months I have had to use a standard pillow .. I love having a U-pillow again and slept the best sleep I have for months!

Today is gardening day .. lawns to edge and mow, weeds to kill, years of neglected undergrowth to clear out which unfortunately comes completes with green ant bites

Have fun!

You should join us in the gardening thread, What did you do in the garden today? Good group there too!

Okay, I tempted fate, and the truck passed inspection and I got my flu shot with minimal wait. Tonight grandson has a baseball game - hope the good luck continues.

They play baseball late in the year up in NJ! I don't remember our kids ever playing games after September (but maybe because they didn't make it to any of the playoffs?).

Sorry about that, but not as bad as the employee being arrested

Well this is true. And after the 2 that were arrested this summer, that's a good thing :D

Are you baking in the pro shop?

I started the season as the baker and the club house manager. After running through 4 cooks, I took the cooking and baking on full time (in addition to the mgr part). We closed the restaurant for the season a few weeks ago but next season, I'll be the head cook/baker again. Wanna come help me?

Maybe you should put a calendar next to your cactus so he could see when he should be blooming, lol. Pretty plant though!
Thanks! I have had it for two years and it’s grown buds and they have always dried up. I had it on my north deck under the eves all summer and it’s been rained on, tipped over and broken, squirrel dug in etc. I think it needed tough love to show it’s beauty:D

I think you may be right... my friend gave it to me and she said it was a Christmas cactus. I googled it and I think it is a Thanksgiving cactus, but it still needs a calendar:lol:
Mine are blooming now too. Mine bloom year round almost. They like a sunny day and a cool night which encourages blooms. Also let them dry out between waterings.

Actually I consider it a lucky day :)
Then Debby laid her first egg?

I hope they aren't as bad as red "fire ants" (pronounced "Fahr aints", I'm told, in Texas).

I think my Christmas cactus is messed up!
Must be a halloween cactus. My wife has several of that type "cacti" that bloom a different times of the year.
