You guys n' gals crack me up!!
I have no idea why they are called butterfly stairs but they split left and right at a platform/deck.
Obviously not finished yet and I definitely need to get rid of the plastic ‘retaining’ wall and replace it with solid 'fancy bricks' same as what I have been slowly replacing in the rest of the garden but I have run out of those for now. I also need more potted plants in there but that will have to wait until the next beach market where I can always get some bargains.
The biggest fern [left front] got popped into a pot and put in the run for the girls. They already have 4 potted the same in there but they enjoy jumping up and picking off the small leaves and they can never have too many shady spots.

5 hours later. If you look to the right of the hanging glass ball you can just see the beginnings of the water feature/ponds:
