When we got our first hens the lady told us, "some people are going to tell you, you have a Dominique, however look at the comb, this is a barred rock" So have assumed she is a barred rock and the seller knew what she was selling. IDK

You can't always go by what the seller says...almost every day on BYC you'll read stories about people ending up with a breed or gender they didn't expect. And that applies to wherever you get chicks (private individual, online hatchery or feed store).

Not sure about the youth and talent....the age and treachery....but, I think of it this way....when ya are young ya believe the "Lies"....middle age ya are figuring out they are "Lies" and when ya are older...ya Know they are "Lies".....

You are going to make me look her up in American Standards book, although I guess she could be a backyard mutt. Well she lays well and we love her, whatever she is. lol

I definitely will grab cake. I am currently on a bit of a bumpy road in life, so I have been busy and distracted.
