The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

'Virgin Flaked' could be that it was flaked by a virgin?
So they have to check all the workers to make sure THEY are virgins? Seems a bit intrusive!!

Same as 'vegetarian fed' means fed by a vegetarian or fed vegetarians :lau
Well my chickens aren't vegetarian. I eat meat and (so far) they haven't eaten DD1 ;)

Where is everyone? I am used to 3-4 pages of catch up ;)
  • Got up at 5:30
  • left at 7, drove to Northampton MA (225 miles, 362 km) arriving at 11
  • had lunch, went to my noon appointment (ALL the way across the small parking lot!)
  • left at 1
  • got to the health food store at 4:30
  • got stuck in barely moving traffic for 1/2 hour (gas meter bar flashing)
  • stopped at another grocery store
  • came home, put stuff in fridge and freezer
  • got gas cans, went to gas station (5 cents off day and 10 cents off "loyalty" - 20 gallons max and my car if EMPTY only holds 11.9)
  • came home
  • made dinner
  • ate dinner
  • checked in here.
THAT'S where ;)

I took the opportunity to finish the 4 year replacement for her.
I ALWAYS hated when they made me upgrade. WAY too much stuff to move over. The IT people would put on the regular stuff (ie the OS and Lotus Notes) but I had to reinstall the "heavy lift" apps - DB2, VisualAge, etc then restore all the associated "content" related to those. PITA!!!!

I thought Wicked was stealing your thunder Kiki
I think she'd smack me back into place if I tried that. byc help.gif

I'm strictly on a part time, contractual basis IF (and only if) she wants me to help. That way we get to see more of her for chatting. :p

Bob or RJ are fine.

I like Bob :D

We are at 45 today. Overcast , but at least not drizzling. Need to feed and water critters and maybe dig sweet potatoes.

OMG sweet potatoes :drool, what kind do you grow. A journey for growing a good sweet potato got me and DH to start our own veggie garden.

Here is the first sign i made, ready to hang.View attachment 1182177

I love it...until I read the later posts, would have guessed you painted it. Burning the letters would be so much more difficult IMO.

OK, How do you KNOW the tuna was a virgin??

:lau This is why I love this thread.

Place is like a ghost town isn't it.

'Cause I have been missing, working ;).

I am not sure what type of sweet potatoes they are, but we planted late and not much there when i dug them up. I put some cuttings in water, and left the rest in the ground. Hoping i can cover them so they can keep growing.
The woodburning is fun, and will never peel off. Here is another one i am working on:

Problem with sweet potatoes is that the only "slips" you can buy are what the commercial growers grow ...we bought some awesome ones recently that came from Mississippi - no idea what but we ate all we bought in just a couple of weeks .

I love your sign.

Thanks! I was surprised to find plants rooted in 6 packs of sweet potatoes. Usually i buy rooted cuttings at a nursery.
