Lions sleep because they hunt at night and it's too hot during the day to do much else for such a big cat! OMG!
Our girl is raw fed. There's a chain of stores throughout Auckland that has everything you need and the people that work there all have a background in vet nursing so they know what they are talking about, unlike the normal vet who wants to push the expensive biscuit food and tries to tell you raw feeding is so bad/dangerous for your dog. Honey never smells, her teeth are clean, she's in great condition, and chewing up a big meaty bone is very satisfying for her. There's a lot less that comes out the other end too. We puppy sat a biscuit fed pup and, oh my goodness, I'd forgotten how much and how smelly the poop is!
Right!? I was in shock! And I think that was actually on a company website too! Yeah, way to sell your brand.... make yourselves look like total fools lol
They were like meat takes a while to process and digest and makes you sluggish/slows you down.... I was like OMG
Also I don't think that's true anyway because when my dog gets a bit of meat in him, whether it's from a can of wet food, or some meat, or just some dinner scraps, he perks up and gets a glimmer in his eye, wants to play, etc. Makes you sluggish my butt LOL
And wow that is AWESOME! I wishwe had stores like that here. Our pet store employees, unless it's small shops, don't know much of anything ha
A lot of vets don't either.
I would raw feed Gator but he's so big that I think it would be really expensive. Even if we could find meat on sale or from hunters etc. Rather than ordering, it's still just so much work and I worry about him getting the right nutrients. He's too big to get prepackaged or freeze dried cause the bags would last like a meal lol not really butas you probably know most of the serving sizes are geared to smaller dogs so he would need to eat way more and would go through a big pretty fast.
One day I will raw feed though.
But for now, he is fed a high quality grain free kibble and we rotate brands and flavors every month or couple months. None of that grocery store junk
