@sunflour I read a heart warming story this morning about a Georgia FFA whose barn burnt down. I thought I'd post if for all to read.

Thanks, it was a devastating event... they left a heater plugged in and a pig tuned it over - the whole barn and all those lovely show hopeful died..so heartwarming to see folks helping out. I wondered how the FFA could overcome their loss.

So i went to check the fire shortly after DH started it and when i opened the door the smoke just kept boiling out into the room! Before you know it, the place is all smoky! But the smoke detectors did not go off. So either we need new batteries or new smoke detectors! And now i know not to open the door when the fire is just getting started. Once i get warmed up again i need to go check the bonfire.

What I do is leave the door cracked as it get's started, so it can draw air in, once it starts to smoke, close the door tight till the smoke is coming out the chimney.

Stoves? Fires? Heating? Of what do you speak? :p
