Did I miss something? :(

I want more fish too! Just waiting for hubby to finish setting up the pond/water feature and fish will be added.

Oh no, sorry! The :hit was just cause I don't think I can add anymore amd Walmart has so many pretty ones right now and they normally don't LOL

I got 6 goldfish from Petco in late January or early February, just the cheap feeder ones from the big tank. 2 died pretty soon after (one was maybe already sick? And the other sadly got caught in the filter or like stuck to the back. Maybe already weak) so I now have 4 remaining. They have grown quite big and I have loved watching them grow. I don't even really hardly spend any time in my room or watching them anymore (besides feeding them), same with the chickens sadly (I need to spend more time with the animals haha) but they are fun and I love them.

Although I need to change their filter and add more water to their tank. They also STINK lately and stink up the whole room which is why I don't go in there or sleep in there now. I do need to change the filter but I think it's on the black part that I don't change too cause last time I changed the filter it still smelled and there's white stuff on top of the black one now too. Maybe I need to vacuum the gravel too? I tend to just drop a bunch of food in and leave so maybe I overfeed.

Anyway, Wal-Mart normally has ugly or sickly fish or boring colors but these ones are so pretty lol

I also want to see what Petco and Petsmart have.

But I don't think I can add more. Well, maybe I could, but they would have to be quarantined in a separate tank first (at least I think so?) and even once quarantined, I'm not sure my current fish would accept them? I'm not sure how easy or difficult fish integration is.

Plus with the stench, I'm not sure I want more fish.

But maybe goldfish are just messy fish? Maybe I could get some tropical fish like platies or something. Although I think they're less hardy and I'm bad at water changes and care. The goldfish are very forgiving. Though I do need to be better at it.

Anyway, they have so many pretty fish.

And I DO have an extra 20 gal long lying around..... But that's supposed to be for the gerbils I bought all the supplies for and never got LOL

I do wanna get those too. And goats. And another cat. And another dog. And more chickens. And indoor birds like parakeets, cockatiel, or a green cheek conure or something similar. And horses. Or at least a mini horse or two. And alpacas. I want everything LOL

So you don't have time to care for or spend time with your current pets but want more?

My goodness @KDOGG331 I bet ya was good at Hopscotch wasn't ya?....most animals require maintenance and care, if they don't receive it they die. Just owning animals to own them, but never giving them proper care is the definition of irresponsible. When the decision is made to attain an animal, then the responsibility has to be considered and committment has to be to take the time to do such...no matter what has to be missed, sacrificed, or lost to do so. If the dedication and committment can't be made, then the best decision is to enjoy others animals without owning any. Just think if your needs weren't met and nobody around ya cared about whether ya was clean, sick, warm, cold, or left in a room full of smoke to breathe in. You'd be better off saving your money and not wasting it on things ya will just flush, bury, or toss out. Lack of motivation or desire of committment isn't excused by being distracted. This isn't written with any malice or rough tone in any way, but just a tidbit of reality for ya to chew on. I know ya are young and all 4 of my daughters are older, tho the youngest is 25 and this is what I would tell one of them.....tho, I'm not attempting to be your dad, but more like a big brother. There is a big difference between wants, wishes, and desires and the reality that comes along with them.....:)

Yeah, gold fish are probably the ‘messiest’ of pet fish and do require regular filter cleans and ¼ water changes plus complete tank cleans and gravel vacuum etc.

Many moons ago, I used to have 1 x 6 foot tank with large tropicals and 2 x 4 foot tanks, one with gold fish and one with guppies.

I found the maintenance required to keep them healthy and happy was becoming too much when my life changed and I had other, new responsibilities and sadly, I had to make the decision to sell them to someone who had more time.

We did, however, have gold fish in the ponds in Brisbane and found their care in a pond to be much simpler once you have the correct set up. However, once we have finished the ponds this time around, we have decided not to get goldfish and go with something smaller. We are looking at a breed which likes to eat mosquitoes!
