Good afternoon friends

Why afternoon for a change? Cos we had a release last night and I spent my morning addressing 128 helpdesk tickets I sat down at 7AM and finally got to move out of the chair at 12 midday and yes, I mean that, did not get out of the chair .. boy, did I have to go!

Sorry, I am too tired to catch up on everything but I did skim over and it looks like all is well and no dramas, just chit-chat, about which I am pleased.

A long time ago when I worked as a Meat clerk, I would be laid off during the January to March months because of work slow down. I had to go on un employment then. It was a real pain!

Unfortunately, I left my network in VA when I moved to TN and been in management too long... Tech skills aren't as sharp as they used to be.

It is hard to keep up since Tech things change so fast.

One of our retired lecturers wrote books on Unix back in the Day. Now he cannot keep up with changes in Apple computers. I wonder how many FORTRAN programmers are lost using their smart phones?

I can imagine the stress. I probably would have cried the entire time.

I was pretty close! I had to send my Mum a text because I would've burst into tears actually saying it out loud (I was asking if she knew how to pull out a wall oven but looks like they are stuck in there fast). Then she rang me! I managed to hold it together. Then the kids were decorating the Christmas tree and our son was keeping up a running commentary on each and every decoration and where he should put it so I was telling him to "Pleeeease be quiet"! My leg muscles are rather sore from getting up and down off our bench many times as I tried out different ideas. But baby is quite safe, and though initially very freaked out, within half an hour was back to its normal, sweet self.

Oh for a bit of that breeze! Humidity is at 96% but no hope of rain here to fill up our water tanks and it's 7am and the house is 79 degrees even with windows open (though I couldn't open them too early because of mosquitoes)! We are in for a long, hot, sticky summer - not my favourite weather.
