The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

Good plan because most apples need another tree "nearby" to bear fruit.

If -18°F is your high for the day, maybe dinner out should wait for a warmer day, say when it gets up to 0°F

The last time I was in S.D. would have had to be in a former life!

I've been to SD twice. A very good friend from college went home on Christmas break and never came back. He sent us a letter telling us he was getting married over spring break and we were invited. So a bunch of us got together and rented a car (way too small) and drove to the wedding and had a great time.

A couple years later, prospective DW and I were looking to go deer hunting over thanksgiving, but the guys all voted and no girls allowed. So I called Paul and we went out to SD. I hunt, fish, enjoy wild game and even back then had a farm in my future... So it was important to see how prospective DW reacted to all that. She had no issue milking a cow by hand, killed a rabbit at 40 yards with a .22 and dropped a pheasant further out with a 410. She was happy to field dress and then enjoy the bounty. That was 42 years ago and we've lived happily ever after.

I'll have to try that! and lol true

Sounds like my DW's workmates. She had to deliver a potluck meal for a something... Forgot about it until the last minute. Only thing we had available that could thaw in time was alligator tail. So I made an Alligator lemon piccata over pasta. Everyone loved it, until someone asked for the recipe. Now they have a policy of publishing ingredients before anyone eats.

Happy New Year everybody!
It's 1 AM here in Germany so we're already past the fireworks ;)
What I have seen from BYC so far is a bunch of respectful and friendly people (truthfully wouldn't expect anything else from people with a heart for chickens!) and I'm glad to have found this place.

:hugs
Frohes neues Jahr I truly miss the holiday season in Germany.

Wow that's awesome! She sounds great. And of course i think hunting is much more inclusive now, though i don't do it.

And LOL OMG! That's ridiculous. They loved it two seconds ago now they dont? :lau

Though i must admit I've done that before. My friend had crab dip and i think made me try it or i wanted to and i loved it till they told me it was crab then i spat it out and refused to eat more LOL

But it was store bought i think so not quite as rude as if they had spent time making it but probably still rude.

It's all psychological haha

I did the same thing with a squirrel stroganoff over noodles. Resulted in vomiting on the part of one person. :hugs

Happy New Year, friends.

OK, it AIN'T so @Blooie, just a bad dream.

Right.

:clap

:gig
Not a bad policy though for most recipes it would be related to things people are allergic to.

I think squirrel is the one thing i could not do. They're like giant rats and also not raised for it so what about diseases?

Poor people and hunters have been hunting and eating squirrels for a long time. As long as they are well cooked i doubt there is any chance of illness.
