The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

I’m a big talker so we will see if that happens. We are in a windchill advisory this morning and tomorrow it’s supposed to be a high of 33*, woohoo! The girls might come out of the coop.

The snow was taken out of our forecast so it looks like it will be pretty nice here today too.

Do you have much snow on the ground?

People, tell everyone with chickens .. do not use teflon coated heat lamp bulbs! One family lost 7 chickens in a few hours because of those bulbs!
Tell people with chickens not to use heat lamps in the coop/barn AT ALL. They are too dangerous to be used without constant monitoring ... which isn't going to happen.

That's some serious snow, I would stay in and watch TV today if I were you.
Your tongue IS firmly in your cheek, right? That is little more than a dusting. Sweep it off the walk with a broom sort of stuff.

@Blooie :( Just awful. I will be watching to see when they discover about this man. Around here murders (the few we have fortunately) are more common with the parties knowing each other rather than random.

What we know so far is that DJ was her ex-husband. He was NOT a nice man, and they were divorced a little over a year ago. Carol's body was discovered when family requested a welfare check. Anyway, there's nothing we can do about it except support the family and pray for Carol and everyone touched by this senseless crime. Thanks for your thoughts and prayers.

On to other things. I wonder if I could get one of them little launcher things and then load it with balled-up Masonic emails......should keep Ken occupied for hours.

Actually hoping to talk him into a trip to Billings today. They got over 15 inches of snow up there a few days ago, so he might be a little hesitant, but he could drive his beloved Tundra. His Christmas gift arrived a couple of days ago. He's called his truck "Shrek" from day one because it's big, green, kinda ugly, but it's soft and super nice on the inside. Last Christmas, Evan got him a key chain that has a little medallion with the words "Grandpa's Shrek" on it. To complete the theme, this year I ordered him personalized license plates that say "Shrek". We had to take his old plates off and take them down to the courthouse in Basin to pick up the new ones, but I did manage to put the receipt and the order confirmation in a big box under the tree so he got the initial surprise, even if he had to complete the gift. He's tickled!

Jenny sent me this photo of Kendra in her new room yesterday. Suddenly all the work we did seems like nothing at all!!

And speaking of Kendra, her vocabulary is picking up. That is one smart little girl in there, but she's still mostly just using nouns, very little conversation. A couple of weeks ago she was here and had her little drawing tablet. She made this, then looked up at me and just as clear as can be she said, "trapazoid." Yep. Just like that! (I had to look it up.)
