The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

You have what you need there. You will get a new power supply but you plug the Ethernet cable in like in the picture. You must also have Ethernet going to another device in your place.

I replaced a linksys router like yours with this one. It would not work with a new macbook pro and there was no firmware update available. The new one works great on the MacBooks pros, my android phone, tablet and other devices here. It also has a strong signal for much further.

It is time to replace your old one for sure
It’s 10 years old so it’s time. I will order it...wish me luck:lol:Thanks for the help!

:fl
It is very easy to setup. It has a quick setup web page.
Plug-n-go, right? Make sure the wire that goes into the "input/internet" port on the current one goes into the input port of the new one. It is marked "Internet" and is blue on the new one. Plug whatever the other ethernet wire is into any of the 4 yellow ports, it doesn't matter which one you use. The power goes in the one marked "Power", not that it could go anywhere else.

You will need the instructions to find out what the password is for the router ... and how to change it if you want to.

We don't have a password on the current one or are you talking for the new one?

The setup on this one is a bit different. There will not be an administrator password until you set it up. Then you can pick one for administering it. The router will give you a default network security key for each access point when you go through the setup.

You need both the admin password and the wireless access point passwords to make the router secure. Even living in a remote place, people can get your information if they can get onto your router.

This router has 3 wireless access points. One is a 2.4Ghz for older devices and the other two are 5Ghz for newer devices. You can rename them or leave them as default. You can also set different passwords for each access point.

Best!
