Kdog, if that breed is predominantly white or entirely white, they'd have to be hearing tested. So many white breeds have deafness issues and other health concerns.

Thanks. That's a good point! They are pure white but hopefully a reputable breeder would test for that? Being rare I think the standards are slightly stricter. Although that said there are people breeding subpar ones and labeling them as that to sell them for tons of money.

But anyway, if they don't test for it, I will be sure to test it.

For some reason I remembered the berger blanc suisse and stsrted looking them up, again, and...

I am now convinced I need one. Maybe more so than a Golden. They seem like the perfect dogs. Problem is, true, actual BBS (not just white GSD passed off as them) are pretty rare and expensive here in the USA.

But I guess I just need to save up and wait a while because DANG are they pretty.

Are Lapphunds a breed from Finland? Name sounds familiar.

There are Finnish and Norwegian lapphunds. the Norwegian are next to impossible to find in Canada. They're reindeer herding dogs.
