The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

Good morning :frow

@Blooie cute picture of Kendra!

@Teila I'm liking the sound of the contract work. Do whatever makes things easiest for you (and the least stressful).

@Michelle Farmer-Brown I haven't gone in to work for the past 2 days as there isn't any more I can do to get things ready for the restaurant if/when it opens. And no work = no pay. Oh well, at least DH is getting a good meal at home because I have all day to work on it

@CapricornFarm glad to see Solo has some company!

All of these work issues are bringing out the Mama Bear in me - that feeling of "Hey, knock it off! Those are MY friends and you can't treat them like that!"
I agree!
Morning Cap! I see you can't get in to see the doc about your poison ivy yet. Makes me itchy just thinking about it!
My oldest boy got poison ivy one time...he went to the bathroom in the woods and used poison ivy to wipe...he was miserable...not funny but he learned what poison ivy was.
I kinda like the new plan, Teila! I have total faith in you!

I have never had poison ivy, Cap....can’t even imagine! Especially if it’s as bad as that song..... <shudder> :lau

Kendra’s class went on a field trip today, out for pizza and then to a dairy farm near Cody. That child just loves animals!

Love that picture!
Yes but, i have been using it and taking Atarax and i am uncomfortable and its still spreading.
Did you try dawn dish soap to get the oil off or is it way too late for that?

Im highly allergic to poison ivy. I can read about it and get it, that sensitive to it.
When I get it on me, I wash with Dawn soap, followed by a rinse with bleach. Then I apply Ivarest cream to the affected area. Usually dries it up in a day or two, if I catch it soon enough, if not, then it's a doctor visit. Here's a pic of the cream:

Forgot to add, I wash the area with the hottest possible water I can stand...this also helps breakdown the oil and enzymes.

OMG :lau

And I think you have to wash it off within so many minutes. I saw a chart once but it needs to be within like 5 or 10 minutes to completely get everything off and after so many minutes you only get so much percent of it off. I think after an hour it's hopeless.

I try to wash immediately

Bleach!? Isn't that dangerous?

Can be, Kelsey, but I knew a sweet little boy who had to have bleach in his bathwater because of his skin condition. He had something called EB - Epidermolysis Bullosa, the worst disease you've never heard of. He was constantly at risk of MRSA infections so bleach was essential in his bath water. It's the same for other kids and adults with "The Butterfly Disease", as EB is also called.
