Time to get the garden planted!

I think we still have maybe another week or two before the last frost, although it's been very summer like here. Personally I think the frost danger is totally over but I don't want to risk killing the plants if I put them out too early. Plus I still need to get the garden bed ready. Though I did mix some of the dirt from the old chicken pen into the raised bed and got some worms with my scoops as well as turned everything so it should be ready or almost ready soon. I think maybe I need some new soil as that soil is last year's and might be depleted?

Anyway, you should see my tomatoes. They are huge already. I made sure to thin that the other day too. Last year I didn't and they all grew into each other and it turned into a huge mess haha

Speaking of huge, I am using my computer for the first time in a while and I am realizing how obnoxiously big the full size images are on a computer.... sorry guys! I can resize them if anyone wants?

And are those plants catnip? Because there should be nothing else planted there but from Googling it, it seems catnip has serrated leaves? Do they start out rounded?? Or is that a weed or some other plant that got blown over from the rest of the garden?

Catnip is in the mint family.
For years my mom would have us cut her some fresh mint to put in her peas. Never tasted the mint, and the peas flavour wasn't so great. Turns out it was catnip, not mint.

Catnip or mint. I have chocolate mint and spearmint in my front yard

Hilarious!

My oldest DS grown catnip (along with other stuff). Once it's dried he sends it to my cats and they go nuts over it.

Should I resize those ones or just next pictures post smaller? Now I feel bad when I posted the like million full size ones of the chickens and coop haha

What is chocolate mint?

My cat loves it too but only when she doesn't get it too often

I have no idea what catnip looks like, started or otherwise. But it is potentially possible that they are sunflowers. But I won't give you even 10% trust in that.

You know, I think you might be on to something. It's entirely possible I've spilled sunflower seeds there! I also planted one or two there last year but I don't think they are perennials? But I likely dropped some!

Kelsey, check this out:

Thanks, that page was very helpful!

Don't worry about resizing the images.

Chocolate mint is mint with a slight chocolate flavor to it

My cats don't even let it grow enough for me to dry any.

It helps to keep my cats away from the plants when the plants are in KS and we're in WY! The cats really like the home-grown fresher stuff...they don't seem to react the same to the stuffed toys I've bought at the store.
