The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

We( me and 2 siblings) started a bank account early - a cousin gave us those empty folders that hold 5 dollars in quarters. Turned it into the bank and got a pass book, I'm sure parent names were on it didn't bother to look. It was probably for the Christmas club - or something. At the end got to have a $5 bill instead of coins. I don't even remember what I used it for. Most likely plastic horses and riders.

Back in the day, when you opened a new account the bank would give you a radio or a toaster, umbrella something., for a minimum deposit. One bank offered a rose bush - each year was a different color. My mother loved roses, so that was a big hit.

Nowadays the bank only gives you a sucker, if you ask for one.:hit

One bank out here used to have a bowl of Hershey kisses, my father would go in there often whether he needed to or not, and took all the hersheys. After about a year or so of this - he came home one day with a 3lb. bag of Hersheys. I had a fit, I asked him how he managed to walk off with a whole bag of them. He said they gave it to him., and he took it home for me. Ha!!

Turned out they gave up on trying to have some for other patrons, and just let him have what they had left. He was really upset that they never put out anything again. I told him he killed it!

Morning everyone :frow

Hope everyone's surviving the heat! 101°F, yesterday. with heat index of 106°F. :th
Well, lo and behold, my AC decided to give up the "ghost"! Checked it out and discovered the start/run capacitor was dead. Ran to town got a new one, replaced it before the heat got too unbearable, 92°F inside when I turned it back on.
The last capacitor only worked for 2 1/2 yrs. They should last 5 to7yrs. The Texas heat takes a tole on everything.:barnie
