sounds normal to me!Folks, On one side I'm sad to be leaving the group I've been working with for the last six months... They gave me a chance when no one else would. That means something. And they've treated me great! On the other hand I only have four work days left until I start my new career.... And I'm excited. One of my new duties will be working with old friends and helping them stay on track. For those who believe everything happens for a reason, I'm convinced that the last couple years was to teach me humility... and maybe patience. IDK? But I'm ready to hit the ground running, but not go far outside my new box. I think it's time to do well but not over achieve too much and just enjoy the waning years of my life. Crazy thoughts...?
Sounds like me with nursing. Difficult, thankless job that is hard on your feet and sometimes your back and for sure your nerves.sounds normal to me!
I have been at the same place for 22 years now. The plan is to retire in two years.
My DW retired from teaching last week. She had enough of it LOL
Exactly!Sounds like me with nursing. Difficult, thankless job that is hard on your feet and sometimes your back and for sure your nerves.
You are a good problem solver. Often we get stuck in ruts like that and do not think there is a different answer.DW hates her current teaching job... In past jobs they celebrated all holidays of all faiths and spent time to discuss them... In her current post they are not allowed to discuss any holidays for fear of offending someone... Having lived around the world, I think it's good for everyone to understand the great diversity in this world rather than block it out and paint a wide white sloth over that very unique thing that makes us all unique yet still connected in some way.
I come from an eclectic world where we are allowed to re-invent the rules to meet production needs... I'm currently working in an assembly line world where everything is first in first out... The owner needed stuff to fill an order that was way back on the line, I asked him why not jump the line? He looked at me for a moment like I was from another planet... Then He proceeded to move everything he needed to the front of the line. And it worked. In general people are comfortable with what's always worked for them and stepping outside that box is scary. Diverse thinking and diverse experience can and does make us more efficient...
Gonna miss you on BYC but, if it's best for you - go with it. We'll manage somehow![]()
