I'm worn out, between the appointment and then coming home and watering and feeding my birds on these torture devices they call crutches. PHEW!!!! So goodnight all!

Howdy everyone

Ok, here's the scoop! It's broken and unstable. The ball broke cleanly in 2 pieces and is impacted, we'll, the force in hitting the ground, impacted it onto the neck of the bone. If the ball would have or if it does fall off the neck, a hip replacement would have to be performed.
What the doc wants to do is go in and put 3 screws in it to hold the ball in position until it heals. Phew! better than a hip replacement. (3) 1/4" incisions better than a 9" one.
So scheduled for the surgery Tuesday. Going in early Tuesday morning, have the surgery some time shortly after being admitted, and a 1 night over stay, if everything goes well. Yahoo!

Yeah, me too, Blooie. I did argue with the doc anyway but in the end, I decided it would be better than a hip replacement!

Sorry you have to endure this!

Lots to comment on and I'm sure that I'll miss stuff, but here goes..

Blooie ask Tam if she'll take in boarders. I love that house! Congratulations to her.
Awesome about Katie and Kendra going to camp. That's the same kind of camp that I work at. The kids all seem to have such a great time and are very well taken care of. I bet they'll have a blast.

Sean when we have an NFC birthday get together, I bet you'll be the one hogging the dance floor all night. I really hope that the screws do the trick for you.

Sean, getting screwed back together sounds like a better alternative than a replacement! We'll keep you company the whole way.

Blooie, your upcoming year was exhausting just to read about. You take care of yourself and remember to eat your Wheaties! You asked about how we were faring from this summer's storms...so far, the tennis sized hail back about a month ago was the worst, the rest has been pretty much just much-needed rain.

Bob, I'll join you in the "hate pictures of self" club. That's why I'm usually the one holding the camera Get your wife's opinion on which photo to use, I'm sure she'll have a favorite.

One more work day for me then off for 2 days. The plans for the rest of my summer are looking more and more like Blooie's...4 tournaments (with a meal for as many as 60 participants included for each), another Red Hat Lady luncheon, a special dinner for big shots for the company that owns the golf course, a catered affair for 75 for the cattlemen's association, a luncheon for the company interns and whatever else might come up. I'm exhausted just thinking about it Come on WINTER!!!!!
