Got a really really crappy offer on my house.... only one we've received though.... looks like we're going to sell it for the same as what we paid for it 7 years ago.

In most of the US, house prices have not caught up with the value lost during the great recession.

Home early tonight! Weird day...

1st thing this morning one of the maintenance guys who was clearing out a dead tree chopped his leg with a chainsaw. Don't know when/if he'll be back this season, it was pretty bad.

Then around 1:00 a huge tree limb fell onto a power line. Sparks and smoke were blowing and finally the limb crashed to the road...right in front of DH's truck. Fortunately he saw it coming and braked in time. Took until about 5:30 for the power company to restore power to the course so we closed early.

We're all hoping for an uneventful day tomorrow

I bet that was painful! Poor guy! Glad hubby didn’t get a tree on him.

Out province is a boom or bust kind of place. We're coming out of a bust, so all of a sudden the market got flooded with houses... people waiting until the bust ended...

Yup... Alberta is oil country. When the barrel prices took a dive a couple of years ago the whole province almost shut down.

Sorry to hear that. That old saying "Something is better than nothing" just doesn't apply when it comes to selling property.

Yup.
A developer is buying it to tear it down & put up a duplex, so the 45 yr warranty that's left on the roof is moot, as well as the foundation sealing and weeping system we put in.
