The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

I'm up too, sort of, kind of. Good morning!

@007Sean hope you get a good report from the doctor today :fl

@rjohns39 that must be fun to see all the action in the incubator. I've never done it but would like to at some point.

@CapricornFarm hope your PT goes well today!
not from where i sit, i want to reach in and help them out cause they're going so slow, course i give them pep talks, maybe thats why they "know" me when i take them out :lau

Vinyl is making a comeback!

It really is! But it's funny, I was never really that into it, always bought CDs, shirts, or posters or whatever at shows and online, didn't really the point of vinyl. But then one day about 2 years ago I was talking to a friend about his vinyl collection and then I started ordering them, buying at shows (tour exclusives), etc. and now I have a pretty big collection. :lau they're mostly all still in boxes though until I have room to display them all but yeah, lots of bands make them now including some of my friends. Cassettes are making a comeback too but not as much as vinyl. I just wish I had gotten into them sooner so I could have some really cool ones I missed out on. :lau also some bands have like a ton of variants like 2 or even 3 or 4 per album and they may have like 3 or 4 albums plus tour exclusive variants or store exclusive (some you can only get at specific web stores or physical stores) and limited, etc. State Champs is like that. Some people collect them all, I saw someone once with almost every SC variant but I definitely can't afford or don't desire to do that LOL they had a really exclusive one a few months ago that sold out really insanely fast and some people in the replies (announced on Twitter) were really upset that their formerly complete collections were no longer complete. Haha I personally don't really care that much about having a complete collection, I just buy cool ones. But some bands only have a few then I try to get them. But I guess it's a hobby and choice of where to spend the money like anything else. But I alsp buy books and pet supplies and lots of other stuff so I don't really collect one thing. Although maybe I should start lol but tbh I'm kind of afraid to play any from my collection for fear of scratching them. :lau

You should play them. It is not that easy to scratch them.

Since there are a lot of them, they likely will not become worth too much in the future. Mostly fun and you get a different dynamic range with records --analog and not digital

It won't damage the paint or design or whatever? Maybe there is no paint? I know some are different solid colors or clear with splatter or whatever but idk how they get those on it.

But I definitely wanna play it because I feel like it'll sound way different than listening in Spotify or something. That's why I like CDs and still buy them too - bigger, not compressed files and it sounds way better imo. So I can't imagine how vinyl will sound. I especially can't wait to hear my friends on vinyl instead of CD or digital lol

Kinda wanna buy some old ones too

Good Question! I think the design is in the plastic but you would need to check on that.

If the record was made from a digital recording, it will not the same as one made directly from live music.
