Great formula stories.... good cash crop for sure.I had a friend that started out writing(as she called them) bodice rippers. Basically the same story over and over with different names for the principles. She sent me a copy of her "Me, and the Boys," manuscript. Said Harrison Ford was interested in it. That was in the '70s.
Oh yeah....You are the mistress of understatement. 'Mr Porky' is all that and SO MUCH more.
Its absolutely brutally cold out this morning. I just went to check on the chickens and fed my outdoor kitties and took this crazy sunrise picture and now am back in the house. It looks like a huge fire with a rainbow shooting out the top. I can’t capture how cool it is.

Got my flu and pneumonia shots Rolled over last night and laid on the pneumonia shot arm. ZING!!!! Yep, I’m awake....3am and I was up for over an hour. Don’t know if I was supposed to or not, but I iced that thing!
Snowing and blowing like crazy in and around Cody yesterday. Got to Powell, about 20 miles from Cody and the halfway point to home, and it was windy but clear and stayed like that all the way home. Woke up this morning to gray skies and a skiff of snow. We are supposed to go over the mountains to Sheridan for a Scottish Rite banquet. Well, they can banquet without us! Ken says he’s about on his last legs at this point, and we know the mountains are socked in. He says he might have tried it driving Shrek IF he was refreshed enough from the last couple of weeks, but not when we’re this tired already. Need to be totally sharp up there on a dry day, and right now there’s heavy snow and serious drifting with the high winds. Um, nope!
The young couple down the street that we got Fiona from had an adventure last night - a mountain lion in their driveway eating a deer! Here’s a copy and paste of her post:
“COWLEY FRIENDS AND NEIGHBORS! Tonight (Friday) at 8:45 pm we had a mountain lion eating on a deer in our driveway in the middle of town. Anyone who has kids or small animals out tonight might want to get them inside!!”
Cari and Jacob live four blocks south of us and ONE block west of the middle/high school. It’s also about 7 blocks from the kids’ house. Until Jenny can drive again (should be on the 22, Thanksgiving day, appropriately) or until this lion is killed or relocated by Game and Fish, I’m telling her that I’m picking Katie up to take her to and from school. It’s still a little dark when she walks by herself early in the morning, and I ain’t having it! Jen’s hours got changed in October so she doesn’t walk to work at the school until 9, but I’ll be picking her up too! This sighting is also just a block and a half from the elementary school.
Thanks Jae! I haven’t either. It was awesome in person. We had a major snowstorm on Halloween of 1991. We got a foot. The cities got 3 feet. We get dustings this time of year but it usually doesn’t last. We got about 4” with this snow. That is a stunning photo - I've never seen anything like it. Your son's are gorgeous too. Is this early for you to be getting snow or is it pretty typical for this time of year?
@perchie.girl you'll have to let us know when we can buy your novels - I love science fiction and fantasy.
And I’ve had enough shoppingBlooie, dear, I think all that driving around has mixed you up. DigMyChicks is the one going shopping (she's in MN). I'm not going anywhere, I'm snugged down in my little company hovel for a while!
Although DH is going to Casper tomorrow if the weather allows.
We go on that stretch of road around Vedawoo every time we go to Cheyenne. But no plans to go there any time soon. Brother isn't doing his usual trio of holiday dinners (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year) because he's having hip transplant surgery Nov. 27th.
