The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

Jae, are you still looking for your special new place to move to?

Yes we are. I've seen one property we like (I'm totally in love with it) but we haven't visited yet as it's further away than where we've previously looked. It looks gorgeous but we'd have to do solar power as the nearest line looks to be a long way off (I love Google Maps). I'd looked at it ages ago but it had been on for more than what we could spend on a property, but it has been reduced a bit, so we'll see.

Maybe since it's been for sale for a while, you can get it reduced even more. Those current owners may be getting more motivated.

That's what I keep telling myself. Fingers crossed!

We looked at our house the summer of '64 and made a low ball offer. Never heard anything and stopped looking for a year. Spring of '65 we started the search again - liveable home on a minimum of 10 acres. "Well you should look at the Gossett property." "We made an offer , but never heard back." Turns out our offer was never turned in as the agent got into an argument with the agency owner and was fired the day we made the offer. We looked at several places and then back to the Gossett property, made the same low ball offer, accepted the counter offer, and 53 years later here we are in our 'starter home'. If it is meant to be, it will be. Good luck.

What a story Sour! A good agent can sure make all the difference in how a sale goes. Glad it all worked out for you & the Princess!

We had 10 dogs in the kitchen, crates, etc.( was a big kitchen though).House sold to the first person to view it. Had to get out fast - the best we could find was the last house going up on a street. Took it. When we(4 adults) moved in had to sleep in the basement and they had the water connected in the laundry tubs, so had to wash there and also do dishes. Not real fun. They only had the half bath(first floor) operable. Horrible iron enriched well water. If water sat in a glass all the rust would sink to the bottom. Gross.

I'm still here 49 years later. I love this place. We are two peas in a pod, good structure but need lots of TLC. Little by little my son updates things when he comes for the holidays. Got a $ 100 Home Depot card I've been holding to help him out.

I have to post these cute pictures. These are a couple of our outdoor kittens my sister took home with her at Thanksgiving. I tamed them in about a week. (My BIL said she couldn’t have them.)They had to put both of theirs down last year. Her house without a cat is not normal. Her husband caved:lol:He sure looks like he didn’t want cats.
