You could always send the fruit cake East. I'm one of those weird folks who actually like fruit cake.

It is a very old fashioned cake and lasts a long time on the shelf.

Some of the fruits are not my favorite. There are modern versions that are much better tasting

I had a sample of an Amish fruit cake. Very yummy and very expensive.

I wonder what the difference is between the old ones and the modern ones? Modern one sounds good

I didn't know they were the same until Alton Brown did a show about it. Same grain, way different cooking methods.

I loved watching Good Eats. Alton gave so much information.

Michelle, we need an update from you...how's your house coming along?

Everything is ripped out now. Wiring started going in today. That will be done tomorrow. Inspection on Thursday. Plumber can't come until the beginning of January and the gas fitter/HVAC can't come before the middle of January. So, about a month from now we should be able to start closing things in.
How's yours coming along?
