While I was gone, a couple of Christmas Elves came by my house. And they were busy!

The old Christmas tree - no room in here with Fiona to set up the large one but I’m still tickled to have one at all!

And it’s not Christmas without the Charlie Brown tree! How touching to put up the little tree on the 27th anniversary of Ma’s death. She passed on the 19th, although her certificate says the 20th because that’s when she was actually pronounced. The elves didn’t put up the Village because they weren’t sure how I’d want to do it this year, but the boxes are here so I can.

I have a little finishing work to do on it all yet - the Village and a few boxes of other things that are part of Christmas to me and the grandkids. But just like the story of the Charlie Brown Tree, those elves knew how much I love Christmas and missed having all the things that make Christmas special. One of the elves would have preferred not to fuss with all of it just to put it all away again in a few days, (given our limited time and how far behind we are on our work here at home) but put that aside and dove right in when the other elf called him about surprising me with it.

I love my elves!
:bow gotta love those elves they know when someone needs cheering up

Yeah! They stopped laying early fall so I've been missing my eggs! It's only one hen right now but I was beginning to think I wouldn't get any at all until spring! One of my hens started molting in August! The rest soon after, September, October, and I think they had all completely stopped laying my late September or early October but before that it was only down to like 1 egg so it's been quite a while.

Yeah, everyone has a frost foundation/crawlspace under their deck!
Good thinking :)

Like Zante currants. They aren't currants at all, they are grapes, ie RAISINS!

t = Teaspoon
T = Tablespoon!

Life in prison is too good for scum like El Chapo.

Yeah that health insurance thing is a big trip up to retirement plans. Hopefully DW will be working at least until I hit Medicare in just over 2 years. Of course it is 8 years for her.

Agreed! He needs to go to Alcatraz or Guantanamo or whichever one it is that's still open or even death penalty. But reading that story, it didn't seem real. I found some documentaries/series on Netflix so I am going to watch them cause now I'm interested. Maybe find some on Bonnie and Clyde too (conversation from the café).

That's wonderful B! Those are some hard-working, thoughtful elves :D Your decorations look beautiful and they sure can make a room cheerier.

And when it's time to take everything down, just do this:

@Blooie that is one cute nativity set. Lucky you to have such thoughtful elves. It all looks so beautiful.

I think we had an elf in training visiting us. A Christmas decoration randomly fell off the Christmas tree. I thought it was one of the cats but they were all asleep. Another year just before Christmas a whole pile of papers and books on the table suddenly all went sideways (I think gravity finally got the better of it) and fell over. I love it when stuff like that happens - keeps the magic alive for the kids.
