The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

When I got locked out I would shinny through the dog doors in the kennel. Back in the days when I was 20 and stream lined, I could just manage to get through Cocker sized in/out doors. It still hurt .You should have seen the look on the dogs faces when I came through.:th

My sister could fit through the cat flap. I've never been that skinny.

And the local night prowler.

Maybe it’s one of those ones with the magnetic locking collar thing? Maybe not though with 3 dogs, the collars are probably expensive. But they sell ones with collars so that only the dog (or cat. Or whatever) wearing the special collar can get in.

Not with those dogs on the other side of the door!!

You are gonna be a busy girl come planting time @KDOGG331

His 3 dogs are way too friendly to chase off any prowlers. Darn things practically maul you when you walk through the door...just to give slobbery kisses!

One or maybe 2 wouldn't be so bad, but with 3, it's like being knocked around by Shetland ponies.

Yup! Sure am! But hopefully it will be good busy! I am excited to try all the new veggies! :D We normally only grow peppers and tomatoes. First year, we just grew a few of each, only one variety each, in raised beds and pots, and all did really well, last year we branched out a little bit and tried eggplant (did well), strawberry plant (all the fruit got eaten), tried yellow squash and zucchini but both died, and tried pumpkins, as well as trying a bunch of new tomato varieties, and a few lettuce varieties. This time in ground beds and we tried a few tomatoes in pots as well as lettuce and peppers because we just didn’t have the room in the garden. But this year the garden is way bigger and I finally decided to branch out and try vegetables I have been wanting to try growing for a while and I am very excited! :D Usually I always decided not to plant some cause someone said they didn’t like that veggie or it seemed like too much work or something, but not this year, this year I am trying a lot of different things and all heirloom and/or organic too so hopefully delicious and I am very excited :D

Now I just need to prepare the garden. Fence and trellis for the climbing plants and whatnot. I normally would wait until the last second and just cobble something together but I don’t want to do that this year. I want to be prepared well in advance and save myself some work come spring.

I imagine being mobbed by dogs that big would not be fun! I am always mobbed by Libby and Franklin when I come in and while cute, can get annoying and they are not even that big!! Can’t imagine what a Dane would be like lol I try not to pet them when they are being rude though but they don’t really jump or anything anymore thankfully except Frank who is still a baby and learning and only really gets that excited with me and even he is getting better. He knows if he wants to be pat he has to sit or at least 4 on the floor but sometimes he just gets so excited he can’t contain himself lol so I just wait it out. Thankfully he is very light and gentle and I really don’t feel it unlike Libby who used to knock you down lol not really but she is a lot stronger and pushiest, Frank doesn’t mean to, he just wants to kiss your face :lau

The dogs were the only witnesses and they wouldn't talk. Had a 6 ft. solid redwood fence around the perimeter of the dog runs, so nobody saw anything. But the runs were covered with pea gravel which hurt hands & knees.

OUCH! That must have hurt crawling across that
