The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

Thank you Debby! I do too. It’s supposed to look cleaner due to the color...we’ll see! That’s what sold me on it and we got really good discounts. We went in for oil changes on Monday and was not expecting to buy a vehicle. Hubby said he wanted a free oil change since we payed for one and then traded it in and they are giving him one.

 You mean the Princess isn't the only one. She went in for an oil change back in May and came home with a new car. :he

No idea, its spinach :lau

Perhaps but I doubt it. Any vehicle that has a high back end tends to roll the dirt and junk on the road up the back. Even our Priuses(Prii) have junk covering the small back window under the "spoiler" and they aren't near as high in back as SUVs. If you are lucky that overhang above the license plate will act as a wind stopper and keep the junk off the rear window.

Silver or tan seem to show dirt the least. I guess your new one is kind of a silverish tan?

That’s true lol probably all tastes the same. But turns out it doesn’t really matter anyway because they gave me a free pack of the exact spinach I almost bought! :D not a full pack, open, but a decent amount of seeds in it still. I almost bought it but decided against it because I figured spinach you can find everywhere even the good organic kind.

Because we'd done a heap of renovation on this place it all had to be signed off by local/district council (not sure what your equivalent is :idunno) to say that it's all been done to an acceptable standard etc. We were expecting the 'Code of Compliance Certificate' to maybe be around $500. We weren't quite expecting almost $1000!

Apparently banks won't lend people money for a mortgage to buy a renovated house without that certificate so we kinda needed it.

Our weather was wonderfully cool yesterday and we got a decent amount of rain (it hadn't rained since Christmas Day) so our water tanks are topped up nicely. And we could actually sleep last night - it was lovely and cool when I got up this morning. Today is cloudy and cool, but tomorrow it looks like we are back to heat and humidity. :hit

Lovely car DMC - I do like that colour.

So they just let you guys do whatever and THEN sign off on it after!? Huh, interesting. Here you have to get permits and also meet the building code as you’re building I’m pretty sure and I think inspected but idk ask I’ve never built a house obviously but I do know to do anything you usually need permits.

Oh, don't worry, we had to pay for all that too before we could start. And there were a certain number of inspections that had to be carried out along the way but it's a different inspector every time and you seem to get a different story from each of them. Very frustrating. Although one inspector had a problem with something but English was his second language so DH couldn't understand him. The next inspector declared he couldn't read the previous ones notes and said it all looked fine to him so signed it all off.

Wow that must have been frustrating!!

OMG Libby was literally crying and sulking so much today. FSIL sent me like 6 videos on iMessage lol I had an another meeting with the client today (their neighbor/friend) and Libby saw me outside with the new dog.

I can’t upload the videos without wayyy reducing the quality especially cause I already downloaded them from the conversation which already slightly reduces the quality rather than original plus collar with phone number is evident in all not that you guys would stalk them :lau

But anyway, Libby saw me outside with Sammie and her owner and when she saw me, they (Libby and Franklin) ran over like “wait a minute... what are you doing in that yard?” And I thought that petting them, like saying hi quick, would make them calm down some but nope, just made them crazier and they were jumping on the fence more than usual, thought they’d break it or jump over aha they seemed a bit better when I backed away from the fence but we ended up just going inside after a few minutes so as to not wind them up. But anyway, I guess not long after that, FSIL went out to call them in (she must have just missed us) and they BARRELLED inside, I think they thought I was going to be inside. :hit

And then once inside, Libby was just sitting/pacing by the front office window, literally just crying. FSIL says she has never heard her cry like that or cry at all ever in her life. It was sooo sad.

She just kept pawing the wall below the window, circling back in the room/sniffing looking for me, resting her chin on the window and staring out, crying/whining, sitting in front of the window, looking at FSIL and back out, etc.

At one point she literally looked back at FSIL when FSIL asked what she was waiting for, with a hurt look, and then Libby literally turned back towards the window and hung her head down and to the side, literally sulking for like 30 seconds. Then laid down. Well, tried, hit the wall, and couldn’t fit lol tried again, fit, put head down. Facing the wall/outside.

But anyway it was so sad, she was literally crying so loud and for so long. I think she saw me outside and then had hoped I would come see them but instead saw me pull away :hit

I had to come back right after I got home when I saw those videos because it was just so upsetting and Libby was so heartbroken. I am sure she would have been fine in a few minutes but it was SO sad. So I came back. And I think she was about the happiest I have ever seen her lol so cute.

And hopefully that is better. I went back and tried to edit it to make it clearer as well as break it up. I think I probably broke it up a little bit TOO much but I wasn’t really sure where to split it because there wasn’t really a clear change of ideas or main point or anything like where you usually would split a paragraph since it was all the same subject but I tried. I figure breaking it up too much is better than having it be way too long. And I wasn’t even sure if that would be considered a long post but it seemed like it would be as it was getting pretty long so I decided to just break it up and hopefully that helps. And maybe I will get better and breaking it up with more practice.

Awww, poor Libby. That's so cute!

I know, right!? I will try to see if I can find a way to upload the videos cause it was so cute. She would cry then be quiet and just stare and sulk lol then cry a little more but she just kept looking out the window hoping I would come in :hit poor thing. But it makes sense because they adopted her a year ago next month and seeing me or my car usually means I am visiting, I have never been in the neighbor’s house or yard, so it makes sense why she would see me over there and get upset or confused. Especially when I just left and didn’t even stop in :hit It’s funny cause I almost wanted to go over there after but I didn’t want to without asking and didn’t think or feel like calling, I jsut decided against it, which in a way is good because it produced some really funny videos, but at the same time she was sooo heartbroken aha poor baby. But I did come back as soon I got home. As soon as I saw those I knew I just had to and I stayed quite a bit. She was soo happy to see me lol
