Got Luna some new toys and the chickens some scratch grain mix.... they are all so spoiled

But Luna's been kinda depressed and lonely lately and meows a lot more lately so I'm hoping the toys will cheer her up some. I think she might just be a little bored. These are her favorite kind of toys.

I don't know about encouraging natural foraging, that is already a natural instinct. Marketing hype, but the birds don't care about that, they only care about what is inside the bag.

That’s true!! Definitely marketing! Although I guess if you had city birds or battery birds in a small pen and/or only fed commercial feed, it may not be natural to them. But mine definitely know how to forage already. But they do love scratching around for the grains and it gets them moving instead of being lazy inside lol

I would bet if they get outside, most any chicken would forage. My initial 12 arrived at 3 days old. They had no mentors and figured out foraging just fine. I suspect even a battery hen would figure it out though it would probably take more time since they are used to going nowhere.

Very true!! I think it comes as natural as chickens as digging or barking to dogs ha

I've seen dogs riding a bike, but never chickens. How would they reach the pedals ?
