Can they give you them right there? And what is an enhanced license? I assume it must be one? But I didn’t purposely get one. It’s just the regular picture one they issue everyone. But I still need a boarding pass and everything to fly. I check in at the kiosk thing usually rather than online, I could but usually forget and I usually have bags to check anyway, and then when I get to the security desk thing, they ask for the boarding pass and license and do the scanny thingy and check off the pass or whatever they write on it, and then I go through security and then that’s it until boarding at the gate where I give them the boarding pass, they usually don’t ask for a license, and get on the plane. For international, which I rarely do anymore, I think I use a passport and go through customs instead. But I don’t get to skip the boarding pass thing or security or anything, they seem to just ask for everyone’s license at the security desk. So I assume I don’t have any special license. But idk. All I know is they ask for it every time I have flown. But that’s it.

Apparently after October 1, 2020 you will need a REAL ID to board planes or enter certain federal buildings and the regular license won’t work anymore so now idk whether I should just get a REAL ID or not :barnie the REAL ID you can’t do online and have to do it in person which is a huge pain in the rear. But I don’t really want to pay for a regular replacement only to have to replace it again in like a year. Although I guess that’s actually almost 2 years away. I should probably just order a regular one online. Idk. You can still use your passport to board planes and get into buildings so I guess I don’t really NEED a REAL ID but carrying my passport around is a huge pain in the rear as well and kind of risky. I wonder if it costs more to get a REAL ID. I hope not. It has some special marking or star or something meaning it’s a federally compliant card and the other one says “NOT FOR FEDERAL ID” on it.
