The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

I think Jae's parents should take the caravan out on the road and Jae and family should live in their house until a suitable one is found for them

They haven't got a house built on their property yet, and they may well be using the caravan after we are done with it. Their current house is in suburbia and can't accommodate our 15 chickens on top of theirs (you're only supposed to have 6 in suburbia:oops:). My Nan (Mum's Mum) is living with them at the moment too as her apartment building was deemed to be a 'leaky building' so is now costing an arm and a leg to fix. She's actually currently in hospital awaiting a pace maker (which should happen tomorrow). She fainted on Friday and my parents took her to the Accident and Emergency, and they got sent off to the hospital where she's had to be all weekend (as nothing happens at the weekend unless it's an emergency).

I don't know why I didn't mention it earlier, but add my Granddaughter to today.

Today was my her 3rd birthday. She actually started blushing when we sang her happy birthday. :gig

Saturday was my niece's 3rd birthday too (which poor Nan had to miss). She's a real character and sweeter than her older brother and sister (though quite determined when she wants to be). Your Granddaughter sounds like a sweetie too. We went up to Waipu for her party which is where we will be too. It was rather windy so we'll be getting some anchor pegs for the caravan! We'll be looking for a property that's a lot more sheltered than my parents and sister's places.

Our little cockatiels are getting big and starting to look like little vultures. The older one has just started opening its eyes as it's 8 days old today. Their parents are unconcerned by us holding their babies and even fed them while they were in my hands yesterday. Our other pair have been trying to nest and the little hen laid an egg while we were out on Saturday. I doubt they'll have hatched them before we need to move everyone but there's nothing I can do.

DH's last day at work was yesterday so now we are busy packing up and moving animals. Our caravan will probably be delivered to the site on Saturday so that's exciting. The kids loved going to see it at the yard and our DS didn't want to go home! We are having a solar panel put on it as there isn't power to the site yet, and a tv dish. The fridge is so teeny but overall it's a lovely, big caravan.

@Bamabexchicks Ursa is gorgeous!

@JaeG wow, things are really happening now!

Happy b-day to your niece (lots of birthdays here all of a sudden)

Glad to hear the kids are getting excited about their new living space!

What cute babies, they're really starting to look real now :D

ETA: sorry about your grandmother's health issue. Best wishes all goes well for her tomorrow!

Well that is what I get for ASSUMING when you said your parents' place it was land where they lived. Guess you better hang on to that caravan for yourselves after all.

You will, OF COURSE!, post pictures, right? (hint, hint)

I bet your grandmother will feel a ton better in a couple of days when her heart is ticking along as it should.

I was going to link you to the ad for the caravan but it closed and, because we'd put a deposit on it the guy didn't repost it. He's a really nice guy who has patiently explain everything to us first timers and he's changing all the lights to LEDs at no extra cost seeing as we'll be relying on our solar panel to keep everything running.

There's the couches that turn into a double bed for us at one end, then at the opposite end are 3 bunks and the dining area of which one seat turns into yet another bed. The cousins are excited that they will be able to have a sleepover! (Which should be interesting)! I'll be sure to post some photos.

Nan is almost 90 and still going strong. So yes, hopefully she has many more years in her once we get that heart working right.

Thank you! I must admit your 'tiels are so cute I'm wishing I had at least one bird!
I hope you will post pics of the caravan so we can admire it! It sounds like an adventure as much as a life changing experience!

On another note, my mom had a pacemaker for a number of years, I'm sure it prolonged her life. She came through the surgery fine.

J, when the kids have a sleepover, you & the DH might want to put up a tent outside for the 2 of you.

This is going to be the goat pasture...

Hubby took a bunch of T posts down there and i started cutting brush and raking leaves.

Are you cutting some of the brush to put up a fence Cap? Our goats loved clearing brush up when we had them. That was one of their favorite foods.
