The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

Morning everyone! No plans here. Evan’s dad Dan and friend arrived yesterday to take Evan back to South Dakota for the summer, so we ran over there real quick to get a bye hug from him and visit with Dan for a bit. I got a nice photo of Tam and Evan together, and no, he’s not standing on a box! Man, it’s time for some baby babies in the family - all the new has worn off the ones I’ve got!

And today we have to make a Walmart run to get some silicone corn/ bunion pads, some triple antibiotic ointment, and some Tegaderm bandages for Kendra’s little feet. She came home from her class outing with bandaids on each little toe and tearful apologies from her aide. Keisha said there were no signs of any issues in the pool, but when they could finally tear Kendra out of the water they noticed that she must have dragged her feet on the bottom and/or sides of the pool. So now the summer will be shot nursing them back to normal because injuries to them just don’t heal very fast. Between the reduced circulation and her crawling to get around, she constantly irritates them. Both feet look like this - only her “bashful” toes on each foot are unblistered. She also has a bit of tape burn around her MACE from the protective covering they put over it for the water, but we deal with that all the time. She can feel that, so she’s pretty good at protecting it until it heals, but she can’t feel her feet so she doesn’t care that they’re injured.

Monday is supposed to be rainy, so while we’re at Walmart we’ll pick up some stuff and have the kids over for a barbecue and Ken will do the cooking under the covered deck. Memorial Day services are in the morning, we hope before the rain starts, so Ken and I plan to be there. Last year he was the featured speaker. I doubt that anyone else could top him standing there in his dress whites, so proud and sincere, but that’s probably just my bias showing. Anyway, Kenny has to work until 2, and Tam will probably sleep until 3 or so, so it works out well planning-wise. We’ll combine the barbecue with an anniversary celebration for Kenny and Jenny.

Tuesday the traveling starts again with an unexpected trip down to Evanston. I try so hard not to whine about it where Ken can hear me, but I’m getting so tired. We leave for Tuscon on the 6th and come home on the 8th, then the 9th we leave for Casper. The 10th is my eye consult up in Billings, then we leave for Cheyenne on the 11th. The 13th we leave Cheyenne and head straight for South Dakota. As it turns out, Jenny and Kendra will also be able to go back there with us, although they’ll have to entertain themselves while Ken and I attend the Grand Bethel Job’s Daughters’ event in Cheyenne first. We get back home on the 24th from Sioux Falls right after South Dakota’s Grand Lodge, home for 2 days, then go to Montana’s Grand Lodge from the 27th-29th. I am so ready for a cruise - a vacation for ME that doesn’t include anyone calling him “Most Worshipful” or me “Lady Diane”, and I wouldn’t even pack a stoopid formal! June is so packed that we’ll take Fee to the kennel and leave her there the whole month. That should cost a pretty penny. 78 days! I just have to get through 78 more days. Of course, I have to throw a party for 250 guests before it all ends. I’m sure a Margarita will come into play along the way! Glad I held off on getting chicks!

And that sums up my whining, at least for this post. I’d best get ready to head to Cody. We hope to get some yard work done while the sun shines. Supposed to be absolutely beautiful today.

Be careful mowing, maybe taking lots of breaks would help?

It's pretty here this morning :yesss: But rain is coming soon so I need to get out to rake out the run...I gave the girls some blueberries yesterday and there are some um, "colorful", messes out there :p
It’s pretty here too with rain coming tonight. It’s 61, sunny and no wind right now.:)We have hubby’s nephews graduation this afternoon. I think we’ll make it short and sweet! My nieces is next weekend and I’m doing cake, cupcakes and cookies for that one.

Just 78 days B...just 78 more days. Then it's definitely time for some "me" time just for you!

How many cakes, cupcakes, etc. do you have to do for the graduation DMC? Sounds like you're going to be pretty busy!
