Good morning everyone.
Getting an upgraded propane tank today. Then, this evening, I'm picking up some goats
I hope that everything is ok with @sharron. It's been a while since she waved at us.

They need a Mama Heating Pad cave! My new girls quieted down just as soon as they were put in the cave. Now they just twitter and tweet, no screaming.Good morning friends! These are the noisiest chicks ever! Always some yapping. I need to finish the brooder outside.

We're suppose to have a wetter than normal summer...I kinda doubt it...with temps like this and summer hasn't even rolled around yet! Even with the rain we have had the ground still has cracks. We actually had a Spring this year although not much rain. We are predicted to have a dry monsoon season too which was disappointing news.
In fact, they seemed to be a little scared of them
they jumped a few times when they moved or flew or charged towards them
I was a little worried twice but turns out it was nothing to worry about. First time was when a Buff Orpington approached and looked like she was gonna peck but then she just wanted to see what the little had in her beak and walked away. Then again when my head hen approached and tensed up/was staring at a chick, frozen, there was a bit of a stand off, I thought for sure she was about to peck or attack her and I would have to chase her off but then after a few tense moments she just turned and walked away! Good girl! Another bird did later try to give one chick a little peck but the chick was half under the coop and she mostly missed lol but mostly they ignored each other. And the littles stayed close to the coop. The littles hung together and the bigs hung together but they did mingle a little bit. The littles were fearless!! The bigs were more scared of the littles than the littles were of them I think.
but anyway, all my worrying was for nothing as it turns out!! The littles even put themselves to bed by finding the back door and jumping back inside as it got darker!! Well, except for a couple teenagers.
and one of the teens also decided she 1. Didn’t want to be caught and kept running from me and 2. Ran straight to the bigs run and decided she wanted to join them instead of her sisters
started pacing and screaming lol they were like what the heck. But I did finally catch her and put her back where she belongs
Non medicated start and grow so I think it’s fine and I shooed them away. They decided they preferred the chicks open waterer too as opposed to the nipple one the bigs have.
