strong prey drive....
You decided to join the chase the livestock exercise program with me?!I'm doing ok, trying to keep from injuring myself chasing baby pheasants around.![]()
Yeah, I do it every year and every year I say I'm not doing this again. You decided to join the chase the livestock exercise program with me?!

She slipped and fell one night either getting out of the hot tub or on the walk back to the house. Cracked some ribs and fractured her wrist.![]()

strong prey drive....
Do you think so? If so, wouldn’t be a deal breaker. But just curious, how come? Is it because of the border collie? I knew border collies had strong herding instincts but didn’t realize they had a lot of prey drive too?? I know it is impossible to tell from pictures but to me he looked very mellow and chill in the pictures, mostly standing still and doesn’t appear to have that “crazy look” to him/hyper appearance. Although of course I could always be wrong. He looks to be part Lab or something too?? We have always had retrievers or retriever mixes so used to prey drive. One of my brother’s dogs actually has a super high prey drive and is always stopping to watch and point at prey on walks and actually recently got loose on a walk to chase chipmunks. Thankfully he is also super obedient and barely went far at all and came right back but still. So used to that and don’t mind it. As long as it doesn’t try to eat the cat or chickens it’s fine. But even then, I can separate the cat and keep the chickens locked up.
I more just didn’t know if he’d be a good dog or not. I thought he looked nice and it says he’s very friendly and loves everyone which is a plus since I would want to take him hiking or traveling or whatever and he could play with DB’s dogs.
I was thinking of possibly doing agility or nose work or something too but idk. He looks a bit short/stout for it but maybe he just needs to lose a bit. Idk.
There is also a nice looking Lab mix at the same place that also seems nice.

I think these pictures are a little older cause he looks younger in them. More recent one below I think.

Also it says Fenway is 80 lbs but I think he could probably lose some and get to a working weight ha or he could be part Pyr or something and just be bigger. Idk.
I agree..string drive period with Border Collie in him! I thought I could have one..Border Collie/mix... be a buddy for my Schnauzer.. That dog played so rough! Poor Schnauzer came in with bloody bites often. Had to place him in a home that would work out better.
