I got really good at back handed swipes with the bird net.... Parakeets mostly but finches and button quail on occasion. But you had to flush them out.... I was no good at catching them on the ground.


Works for chickens and Guineas too. but you have to have a good soft fish landing net that extends your arm at least three to four feet.

What I want to do is create funnel arrangements so all I have to do is get em going in the direction I neeed them to go. For sorting and inspection and banding. Better to work smarter than harder...

I had a female Aussie The parakeet was walking around on the drapes when he decided to fly... Swooped past Annie and she did a mid air snap.... In horror I said Annie Spit that out...

Pituie and a very mad parakeed hit the ground walked off grumbling... She was a very good very trainable dog... Even then I never had to yell at her.
