My nephew had his surgery today. It went better then the doctor was expecting. They were able to save all the muscles, only one needed repairing. His eye was not savable no matter how many surgeries he would have had. They were able to attach all muscles to the prosthetic so that will move when his good eye moves. He’s in recovery right now and they are hoping to go home today. :)

Thanks for sharing an update DMC, I'm glad the surgery went well!
 
That is very good news DMC! He will adapt and people won't even know. I suspect besides not having vision on one side so he'll have to turn more to see, the biggest change will be the lack of depth perception. There are a lot of things people do without thinking about it that go along with depth perception which as far as I understand is good for about 15'.

I agree! It’s going to suck for a while for him. With time he’ll get there.

husband had to go to cardiologist yesterday, we left the house at 11:30 as hs appt was for 1, and it takes around 45 minutes to get there, well, he finally got out around 3:30.
i've been to some dr's that seem to take forever but this takes the cake but this dr is good at what he does so next time i will take a book
