The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

Just heard from Tam a minute ago. She made it and is safely tucked into her room.
That part is "Like". The rest of it is kinda scary! But she'll be fine.

She found a Taco Bell. She’s happy now! We don’t have those anywhere near us, and it’s her favorite fast food joint of all time! :woot
A good old American "Mexican food". Apparently there is one Mexican restaurant in Japan, in Tokyo. And it is a Taco Bell. Those poor Japanese!

There's also a store down here that makes custom fit inserts and have a lifetime guarantee on them, they are kinda expensive at $90 but if they wear out, they will make you a new pair for free.
Given what you are doing, I'd happily pay $90 a year for them.

But 2 weeks from today at 4:00 it all becomes Tom and Cindy’s and I’m done!
 :idunno

Great news!! Tam wasn’t selected for jury duty so she is grabbing a bite to eat at McDonald’s and heading for home. (real gourmet diners, my kids!) Even better news....she was slightly misinformed when she called to ask her questions. True, financial difficulties do not exempt you from jury duty, but the combination of being a single mom and being on a limited income does. She receives no financial or medical aid from the state, so assistance isn’t part of her income.

Now I just have to sweat her safe travels home - and until she calls and tells me she’s actually in her house I’ll be sweating it! She also learned that being the caregiver for a disabled child or adult is an automatic exemption, so Jen won’t have to worry either. That leaves Ken and me, and we’re in a position to serve whenever we’re called, so it’s no big deal. I’m proud of the fact that Tam didn’t quibble - she just got herself there prepared to serve.

Great news indeed B! Let us know when she gets home safe & sound :woot

Blooie, that's what we do, we serve. There are so many folks out there who don't know what that means....
