The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

I like your new avatar Cap!

Enjoy your afternoon, hope you're feeling better.
Thanks. Doing pretty well, but that swap tired me out. All that lifting and catching critters, put getting up early and driving. But I sold a bunch of quail, lots of chickens, a turkey and 2 rabbits.

When do you think you'll move back? Sounds like you have a lot of ideas/plans. Looking to the future is good! I've seen your jewelry and it's beautiful. Have you've done welding in the past? Barbed wire sculptures sound interesting.

And if you're going to be addicted to something, popsicles aren't bad :p
Yes I took Sculpture in A class in college. I learned how to weld stick mig and tig. Or at least stick things together. Eventually I got to the point where I could make a decent weld...

We worked mostly in found objects and or ten gauge Cold Rolled Steel. I made a horse shoe sculpture that was hideous.... LOL. made a Ribbon and moon sculpture... Loved it. Made a more up right ribbon sculpture... but it was too much like my horse shoe in composition. When I moved out of the house at twenty five Mom was angry with me so she threw them all out except the horse shoe one.

So I have nothing left....

There is one that i gave to a cousin... Found objects came out pretty good. She passed away about ten years ago and I have no idea what happened to it.

Lets see:
I have done Leather tooling
Lost wax
enameling
Clay sculpture
Welded sculpture
Painting
made walking stick
Wire woven Jewelry
Beaded jewelry on a loom
Beaded jewelry by hand
Sand painting
...

There is nothing I wont tackle if I have the right tools.

its going to take a while... I want to start after the snows up in the mountains.

The house has been empty for ten years now. I have to strip the kitchen and pretty much throw everything out... VEry little food except canned goods....

I have to pull down the rain gutter its partially down now but the wood it was nailed to is rotted.... I need to replace the facia eventually.

Thats just a start.

Nope, you can’t surprise me - you have to find out if I’m home first! ;)
HAH! We know that in 2 weeks you won't be pried out of your house for anything. You'll be there.

her CT scan showed nothing abnormal for someone who is 103
And they have SO much data on what is normal for someone who is 103 years old! But it is good that she is doing well for her age ... and at her age, still doing better than a lot of people at 70.

Meet our new garden stone!
Are you going to get some white out and fix the spelling error? ;)

I'm pretty excited that she can now go into assited living, and.........there is a place that has said yes to having her, only a few blocks away from us!!
:yesss: That is great Cynthia. And yes it is sad to think about how space opens up in a facility of that type. Kind of like when someone needs an organ transplant. You don't want to hope for disaster to happen to someone in order for you to live on. But that is the only way.

That's an impressive list of accomplishments! Have to ask, what is "lost wax"? Don't think I've heard of that before.

Here's the list of things I've learned how to do:
tie my shoes
read books
clean the cat's litter box
cook
bake
brush my teeth
laundry (sort of)
