Btw, came home to a broody Australorp

Thankfully she was not mean about and did vacate the nest box just from me opening the lid a while (so apparently not a good broody ) and didn’t peck me or anything but she was DEFINITELY broody because she puffed all up and clucked a lot and was NOT happy about vacating but did it.

Although she did kind of hang around and watch me take her eggs and was not happy.

I now apparently have two broodies, though I suspect the Orpington is still only considering it. But I am going to test these two and see which one is the most serious and then whichever one that is is the one I will let set.

Cause I am now definitely letting at least one set.

I've heard broody behavior can be "contagious"...you better tell those girls of yours only 1 broody at a time is allowed!

Long day yesterday Bob, no time to chatThis new job is taking up all my extra time.

I had 3 broody as of last week, I’m down to two. One is bad enough!

I truly know what that's like. My morning yesterday started slow but afternoon got crazy and just didn't find time or desire to get back out here. There comes a point where it's just time to walk away from the computers.
