, i've been canning since 1970 when he got out of service and we came up here to his home place, his mother taught me everything about canning, last year didn't can much, was using up the canning for the year before but now i need more fresher canning

we always do
yes, lots of work but i love hearing the jars ping, makes it all worth it, so far 20 something quarts of green beans(i have more plants growing that haven't bloomed yet) only 7 pints of beets(the biggest ones, have lots of little ones yet) thats it in veggies, my tomatoes are just starting to color, getting enough to eat on the table, getting lots of okra, radishes cucumbers , i froze about four gallons of blueberries and picking black raspberries, three pies and one cobbler from them, so have corn, tomatoes, more beans,more beets, and carrots not to mention lots and lots of peppers that i want to try to dry in the dehydrator, might try tomatoes in it too, the sky's the limit

we don't have a farmers mart around here, we do have a farmers something in cville but its mostly stuff in small quantities. sometimes locals bring in stuff from their gardens at the auction in quantities but when they do, lots of people usually buy it up so you have to be willing to pay more , if my tomatoes don't come on like i expect, will maybe take a ride out to amish country and see what i can find, been wanting to go out one more time before i die anyway
