The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

momma had a devil of a time keeping shoes on me, only for school and when we went to the grocery store, i used to go get a tetanus shot quite often, in those days dr's gave them every time you got hurt to this day i still hate shoes, summer i wear flip flops when i have to wear shoes
And, this day..you only need one every 10 years, unless, you do get hurt pretty good by a rusty ol something, they ask, how long since your last tetanus shot? If it is just a couple of years away from the 10 mark, you get one. I walk barefoot in the house, sneak out the back or front once in a while. Not too far though. ;)

You sound like me! I hate shoes. I have to wear them at daycare. I can’t wear flipflops. When I clean they come off.

Kids didn’t get to come over today to see the babies. Disappointed but Jen’s working two jobs now and she had to work at the hospital this afternoon until 8. Then it’ll be an hour for Kendra’s enema, so tomorrow will have to do.

Lost one chick but I kinda expected that. It didn’t look too good when I took them out of the box. I did what I could but it wasn’t enough. It sounds so callus to say but I don’t get bent out of shape at losing one. I still have other live ones who need my attention so I try to save the weak ones but I don’t spend every waking minute nursing them or obsessing over them. I did that with Scout and it was physically and emotionally exhausting. I try, but don’t beat myself up over it.

I wouldn’t beat yourself up! My mama cat had 6 babies 2.5 weeks ago. 3 died and I feel bad that they didn’t die right away. They lasted 2 days so I’m sure they suffered. I tried to get them to latch on to mama but they coudn’t.

Love baby chicks. Did he poop on your floor:D

Nope. The black spot I flicked out of the way was a dead beetle that Fee brought in on her coat. Looked like the chicken pooped, but she had her toenail caught in a loop of the carpet and threw her off balance. Of course, Ken panicked. Bodily fluids from any critter give him the shudders. Raised 3 kids and 6 grandkids and he’s never so much as touched a diaper, even to throw it away. A baby spitting up sends him into apoplexy! Wimp!!

Sorry DMC, it's sad. My cat chewed one kitten in half, not sure if it was dead at the time, uck! I was outside when she had them in the box I set up in my room.
