The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

Good morning Debby :frow Stay safe on that run to town. We're heading out for a feed and grocery run here shortly as well.

morning debby:frow
can't say that i blame you, i would do the same thing, altho can't think of anything we need except for animal feed, thats the only thing i would venture out for
be careful and safe, the idiots will be out too

Thank you! I'm not leaving for a while yet, have to wait for the pharmacy to open.

I'll definitely be careful. The deer & antelope are roaming and a nearby rancher has turned his cattle loose to range. Those are all hard to see before daylight (especially the black cattle).

The neighbor closest to us had an accident yesterday morning on his way to work. Apparently he swerved (not sure whether due to animals or slick spot) and smashed his SUV into a metal post by a cattle guard. It had to have it towed off.

That's a good reminder to us to really watch the road and sides.

yes, with animals you always have to go slow, never know where they will jump or if they will, i always make husband slow way down just in chase, with squirrels you think they will run one way and they will always head the other, stupid squirrels, but we've never hit one yet
its a nasty looking day here, cold(for us) and rainy , even husband didn't want me to go out to feed, so probably will stay in all day unless i go to see sister, we'll see.
like i said, be safe

We are supposed to see our first snow in the valley. It's been on the top of the the mountains for a while. Always fun to see that. Pretty. Going to share a couple of photos of what happened the other day. Had some water bubbling up out beside our home, on the street. Someone called, we didn't know what was up until we saw the city truck out there, then another, then another. They thought it was just our private line, yes, it was drinking water..but, they got down there and found it was the main pipe. In the photo it looks like just a leak on the side, but it was split clear around along the bottom. They took care of it pretty fast. Wasn't without water too long at all. ....Just out of curiosity, who's gotten their flu shot? We need to. One more thing out the way. Had to get another shot in my right shoulder..fearing the inevitable.. surgery. As long as these shots work, not doing that again too soon. Something that can't be done, is another ablation. Heart. I've had 2, they don't dare go in again, afraid it will make things worse for my heart. Man it's been acting up bad. The worst it's been in years. Can't do the meds either. I just need to try and keep... unstressed! lol...

Pull in close with this first photo, you can see where the water is bubbling up.

You can see our smaller pipe to our place, the the main line leaking.

There's the bandaid as the neighbor put it. They wrapped a big piece of plastic around it, then covered the with gravel. Will let settle, then pave it over.
