The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

We are going to get more birds what breeds would you suggest? I think brahmas are good breed nice and docile except the feathers on their feet bleed whenever they bend side ways. :hmm
don, i really have no idea, i usually go with the bird that catches my eye, don't care about eggs since i always have a bunch of chickens and there no shortage of eggs, they usually lay more than we can eat a week, usually have to give away to friends, i love my bantam cochins, yes feathered feet, but so gentle, nice setters too and wonderful pets but what you have sound nice so why change? just hatch out more or if something else catches your eye, go for it, if not suitable for what you like, you can always sell them or eat them

I'm a degree warmer than you Sean, that's sad...

It's going to be a Chicken/Turkey vegetable with homemade egg noodles. It was supposed to be turkey, but what I pulled out of the freezer turned out to be two old cockerels instead of an old Tom. I'll simmer it for four hours, then harvest the meat and return the bones and let it cook another 8 hours. Then strain it and jar it up in the fridge so it's ready on Thursday.

That sounds delicious!

I just have this except water instead.:caf

Honestly mine is not much better :gig
All is good :D I don't even remember the photography thread.

Glad it’s not just me and glad you weren’t offended :lau  there used to be this thread, idk if it still exists anymore, for farm photography, and I thought that you had posted some nice pictures of your animals but it may not have been you.

That's a good idea! I do have an incubator and the breed has been vary genital towards the kids. That's what I will do, be prepared to see some adorable chicks this spring:D!!!!!:wee

It might have been but I don't remember:lol: no I'm not offended!. I'm just trying not to offend any one else. I would hate it if I did:frow

I love my Easter Eggers, White Leghorn and my Barred Rock when I had one. All awesome breeds. Also love my Orpingtons and they’re gentle and good layers too. I also have Black Australorps and they’re pretty good too and I have a Partridge Rock, Speckled Sussex, and Delaware too but the PR and SS haven’t started laying yet but I love them. I really love the Leghorn though. So much personality. My Del is very sweet and a good layer but she’s so LOUD LOL the Leghorn is a phenomenal layer. I only got the Leghorn, Delaware, PR, EE, SS in April but so far they’re great. And I do also have two older EEs. Anyway, all great breeds and highly recommend. And the Orps and EEs are great for kids. Or maybe some Cochins or Silkies??

:lau do you have pigs and sheep and barn cats?

And nope! You haven’t offended me and probably not anyone else either! :D

I just feel bad :lau

I feel the same way when someone runs up to me in a store or something too all excited to see me and I have NO clue who they are lmao

Thankfully that’s only happened like once or twice.

Usually I remember someone eventually but this kid I had NO clue who he was lol maybe someone from school. Idk.

i hatched around 70 chicks this past year, ended up keeping seven hens and one cockerel, i kept him to resell next year when hes older, hes a cochin frizzle, a mille fleur color, he daddy is a mille fleur cochin and his momma is a white cockin frizzle so i'm sure someone will want that youngster
would take a picture but hes at my friends house now, he takes care of them while we go and stay in florida for the winter, hoping that his chickens don't pluck him like the pair i had last year otherwise i'll have another rooster:gig
