The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

This makes me really nervous! Maybe you'll consider humoring an old pal & installing a land line? :fl:fl:fl

When i have the electical work done I will ask if they could hook up my land line. It runs through a conduit alll the way to the power pole Down by the well Which is a thousand feet.

With my inheritance I am hoping to get those basic repairs done.
That and getting my driveway graded.... In the process I will have water lines run out to the horse Paddock passing by the Poultry house project. Those same trenches will have Power and phone so I can answer the phone any where... Puttering in the coop or horse corral. I will have outlets to serve both and put in the phones later.

Still will have to do Satellite internet. I dont even think Dial up is an option.

Like I have said before Moving up will be an adventure. it will take me time before I have Phones and the power stabilized... And for me to contact people in the trades. Cell access can be made from about Three quarters of a mile from the house Line of sight to the freeway. I have phone access at the power pole too.

I could hook up a portable phone base in the pump house Then bring a portable phone with me in the truck. Those only have a broad cast distance of about four to five hundred feet... Unless I got missed by Technology passing me up.

So Research to be done connections made pone numbers to be collected for the work I need done up there. I am ok with Contracting it myself... You get a deal if you contract for cash... But there is a risk so you have to be careful who you choose.

Emotions can not only make you ..feel bad...but make you ill. I've been pretty sick. This bug had gotten me good. Whole family has been sick too, but mine hung on. I've got just a wee bit of stress going on. ;). My husband is one of course, he's declining faster than we thought he would, but now my sister that I'm guardian of is not happy. Our Lisa that you've heard me speak of. I guess dialysis is tough. I can only imagine. Just had her back in the hospital for the second time because if her fishula. First, a reroute, this time a blood clot had to be removed from the top part of it. She has been talking about wanting to end her life..to go home to heaven and see mom. I just want to get her through the holidays, then have a talk with her to let her know that she can stop Dialysis anytime. It's her decision. I don't think she knows this. The head guy at dialysis said to let him know, he will work with us. Not sure what he meant. Maybe go days down a week. He says they actually go pretty peacefully..just go to sleep. I will bring her home if she wants to stop it. It will only take her 2 weeks to 2 months. I have a feeling she will want to quit. :(.

News flash discovered a new taste sensation...

There were four Deviled eggs in the refrigerator. Salt pepper garlic and smoked paprika in the mix along with a little mayo and a large squeeze of Mustard.

Turkey is designate for other things along with the fixings... I find if I keep things soupy then I dont get sick to my stommach when I eat it.

So out come the Manchurian Cup of noodles chicken flavored Cooked DS sytle.

Run the wtaer so hot you cant touch it and fill the cup I love that instant cup of freeze dried veggies and chicken broth... I had the eggs out while waiting till it did its thing...

OUt of impulse I put those four eggsies in the soup Had to drink down the broth a little but they fit I scooped the filling out and worked it into the broth with my fork.... Ate the white one by one.... The soup broth was creamy and yellowy After all there IS Tumeric in there the package said so....

I ate it too fast (whats new) now waiting for my stommach to settle and going to put a real dent in it....

I plan to try this again... But first I have to do deviled egg creamed up... Dog can get some whites added to her diet I will dice a few whites to add to what ever soup I concoct.

I Soooo feel better this evening

full of piss and vinegar and sipping on my egg broth.

Any snow at all is "bad snow" :lau
Then you are probably happy you weren't up in the mountains here a couple of days ago, 4' at Big Bear. Female cousins and their kids went to Sequoia National Park early last week. Older one's daughter goes to UC Santa Barbara, didn't get to Sequoia before the others came down before the snow fell. Then the roads south were closed and they all had to drive to Santa Barbara before they could head south to Upland.

There was some nasty stuff built up in all that piping.
Been there, done that, wished I had a clothespin for my nose.

Time to go to the gate, flight to JFK was delayed an hour.

I'm certain I would love the choice of SNOW, over that of rattlesnakes . It's a matter mostly of what you grew up with. Have had drifts cover the living room window(first floor). Have all the gear to battle it and stay comfortable while doing so.

Have never gotten comfortable with garter snakes so pretty sure I wouldn't want rattle snakes around either.

Rattle snakes are just predators... you learn what they like and dont give them that... Mice and piles of wood.... they will find a nest some place else.

you do have to keep any clothing items in doors though... Hung up preferably... Shoes and jackets.... Snakes like to crawl up on warm concrete to warm up in the morning but they dont do shoes and jackets.... Scorpions do... and the other is black widow spiders.

and nope nothing dies off in the winter they go into torpor or hibernation.

I am looking forward to my first taste of snake. Tom is a very good cook I hope he is still my neighbor. He cooks on his Wood burning heating stove....

or the barbeque. Those stoves are awesome... i hope to get one for my house because it will take a full sized log....

years ago we had identical twins on the bus-both were getting dialysis. One sister died suddenly despite the treatment that she hated. The surviving sister decided she wasn't going to have any more treatments and she passed away soon after.

She had told us long before that she took care of her sister's husband till he died. Then likewise for her sister who passed. She said she had enough of all of it. We understood but it was very hard to loose her.:hugs
