The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

SHARRON you aren't stupid or dumb. Forget about jobs. Sounds so sterile and boring.
I bet the things(anything) you really love or enjoy, you excel at. My son said I was to dumb to understand about computers. Yah I am but, I manage to do a lot on BYC using one. I am able to do what I need to do.

Can't put up photos, can't cut and paste, or copy and paste whatever the deal it is - too bad. I can converse with folks around the globe and they understand me. I always tell my son "well you can't trim and condition a show dog." He just smirks. He makes more in a hour than I made in a week.

I don't want furs, diamonds, trips to exotic places around the world. The funds to buy anything I want - when I want it, is pointless to me. I don't care for things that come easy. I like the struggle. I like the sacrifice. Makes the victory, much sweeter!
I agree every one is important !!

no one sets standards of how well you should be able to do things.

Orphaned when your mom died? That is WAY too much for a kid to bear!!!!!

I know but since you have a contract, someone must cover the shift when the hiring firm wants to work, no??
Nope, that's the reason I almost lost the contract, when I broke my hip. I did very minimal testing for them...and of course that had a major affect on my paycheck. And neither they nor I knew I'd be out for as long as I was incapacitated. It's up for renewal but I don't think I'll take it on again. It's kinda hard to find a reliable, knowledgeable person to do what I do, and if you do, you will have to pay through the nose for that expertise.

The current contracts I'm working on, I am going to have to find someone to handle the daily, weekly, checking on the monitors that will be used in the project. I can not drive 600 miles one way every day or week, maybe once or twice a month to keep abreast of the situation. I managed a project for the same entity about 10 years ago, so they know what to expect and are happy with the contract.

Ha I try fixing it myself:he. Yep I have had those bad times . I did some out of my experience, duct work. Man I hope it all works. I will be spending the rest of my day in the basement monitoring it. I actually have some basic hvac training but nothing fancy like this. I installed a wood burning furnace.
I see way people hire people now .
husband does all that stuff, hes retired plumbing and heating, air cond. contractor.
