The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

Good afternoon. Two days and three nights of sleep. I should be caught up by now. Must drag self out of bed. I got a new medication and they didn't even give me the list of possible side effects. So I look it up. Dry mouth and constipation, two of the nasty problems I already deal with. Among others . Wellbutrin has been added to my meds.

That chair turned into a nice "couples" project DMC
We are working on the chair cushion. It is not going well. The wood is so hard the staples won’t go through. The chair is almost 100 years old according to the date on the label but it’s pressed wood for the seat. I wonder if it’s an original seat cushion? Hubby is out in the shop looking for something else to put it back together. We have a staple gun that uses air but they are too long.

Upholstery tacks are a pain, but they are sometimes a solution. When I did my bench, I used plywood with T-nuts for my cushion.

Well the final numbers are in. This half was a LOT easier as I remembers the shapes of the bones. By the time I do the third one, I might actually have a clue. After watching about 15 youtube videos, I realized all of the various butchers positioned the pig the same way for saw work. Not one mentioned it, but they all did it the same way. I have no idea why that works, but it was a breeze this time.

Here's the final tally (keep in mind he's the smallest of the three. Today was 16 pounds 7 oz so about 37 pounds in total.
Cut Pounds Oz
Sausage Meat 1 5
Bones 4
Round Roast 1 13
Round Roast 1 8
Loin Roast 1 1
Loin Roast 1 12
Loin Roast 1 2
Butt Roast 2 5
Butt Roast 1 9
Total 16 7

Maybe you won't get the side effects Cap. Doesn't your pharmacy include a flyer along with your meds? Every time I get anything from mine (even routine things) they staple a flyer to the package that lists everything.

Hope you'll share a picture when the chair is done DMC.

They usually do, but I rarely look at them. The one time I want to look at it, there isn't one!

Son had an electric staple gun in his tool box and that worked pretty good...Good enough anyway.

I will Debby. I’m waiting for the paint to dry to see if I need to put on another coat. I have a couple runs that need to be sanded also. This is the chair before doing anything with it. The second picture I over sanded and couldn’t get it to match the rest so I decided to paint it. Good thing I’m not in the furniture refinishing business.
