blooie, i have too agree with your "pot bellied champion" on that one, thats a man to walk besideGood day yesterday! Packages from friends, no snow, got my flu and pneumonia shots, got my referral to a local dietitian, and kept Ken and my primary doctor from coming to blows. Gentle, sweet Ken blew his stack. Not like him but he’s still seething over nobody telling us about these dropping kidney numbers over 4 years, and my primary was the one who had ordered at least 4 of the blood tests that had the dropping GFR and rising creatinine levels. He never said a word to us, never said, “I know you’re here because of ________ but there’s something else in your labs that we might want to keep an eye on here.” Not when I was Stage 1, 2, or even 3. He started talking about what the dietitian can do for me, what medication changes will mean, and the labs and report he’d received from the nephrologist, and I could see Ken sitting like a pressure cooker. Then he asked Ken if he had any questions. Oops. Not a good thing to do. Ken said, “Just one.....were you planning to let my wife die of total kidney failure before you looked at those 4 years worth of labs? Did you just think we were too stupid to be able to deal with it?” And it was on.....
Doc told Ken we were free to choose another doctor, but Ken told him he didn’t want another doctor, he just wanted the one we used to trust back. Ouch! The appointment didn’t exactly end on a high note, but he wants to see me in 3 weeks, after my next nephrology appointment. Think I’ll leave my pot-bellied Champion at home that day.

gotta wonder who's mad at us
@Blooie take Ken with you on the return visit. It has come to the point that we must advocate for ourselves when it comes to health matters.
