The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

Mini-Shrek great! The road was great, and it was 56....yes,56....degrees up on top of the Big Horns!! It was 66 when we got tonSheridan.

So, we drove from home, up over the mountains, got to the hotel and unpacked the car, went out to eat with friends, got back to the hotel, and look what Ken found in his jacket pocket when he took it off!

Good thing it didn’t break!

Good thing it didn’t break!

I've done that before - put it in my pocket, then leaned up against the kitchen bench. :sick

I'm rather behind - been busy here. Hope I haven't missed any chick photos Cap!

We went to the Northland Field Days yesterday. It's basically a big agricultural show with lots of products and services on display. There was a petting zoo/farm with the tamest, sweetest, most chilled out animals I've ever met. And you could tell the people running it adore their animals, so that was lovely. We had a ride in the cart pulled by 3 Clydesdales too. That was fun.

I have all but one quail egg hatched out and that one has pipped and it's still alive, so I think that makes 31 babies, 32 if that last one makes it. One pipped but there was blood in the pip. It started to unzip but didn't make it. I do have one that isn't doing fantastically. I've put it back in with the little ones and it is eating and drinking but I'm still on the fence as to whether it's going to make it. It's doing better than it was in the big brooder so we'll see.

A couple I did help (it's not easy to not help when your son is begging you to not let them die). One pipped and took forever and ended up getting stuck to the inner membrane. It started to unzip then there was almighty yelling coming from the incubator. I thought it had hatched, but no, it was stuck and it was not happy! That one is called Sticky, and thankfully it's the only white with a dark spot on its back.

Another one I helped because it was also taking forever (I'm talking 48 hours!) and starting to dry out. It had curled feet. One I've straightened out no problem, but the other one I can't straighten it at the ankle properly to set it in the right position. But it is perfectly happy and healthy and zooming about, despite the curled foot, so it can be a pet. It is called Curly.

I promise to take some more photos - it's an at home days tomorrow. We had my niece's birthday party today so it's been a busy couple of days.

Hope you're having fun @Blooie .

Daycare was he** today and I was only there half a day. I have a feeling one of our drop in toddlers has influenza. It took forever for her mom to come get her. She sent her sick which just makes me angry. She had a pretty wicked cough going on.

I'd be upset too about someone sending a sick kid to daycare, especially with all the news about the virus that's going around.

Hope this weekend is nice for you DMC!

Good morning everyone. Have a wonderful weekend!

@sharron beautiful flowers!
@N F C not having flowers is a great reason to move from there. Hope your headache went away.
@007Sean beautiful sunrise, thanks for sharing!

We went for feed yesterday and Frankie went with his dad to get water. I transplanted my herbs and squash, did a few chores and got a headache, sinus this time but I've had quite enough. Today will definitely be a park day, then we need to clean house.
