They can’t say for positive that she has it. They won’t test unless she were to get hospitalized.

Hope she'll be ok.

I figure they would test first, and then if needed, hospitalize. I don't understand hospitalizing first and then testing. Maybe things are different because of her young age.

Back when this virus first started coming up, the reports were that it didn't seem to affect youngsters. I wonder if it's mutated again.

It seems to be a small proportion of infants and children that, if they are going to show symptoms, they get it quite severely, whereas other kids are only carriers.

I got up at 5.30am to book my supermarket pick-up order in for a week from now. There's a lot of people that beat me to it! I got one of the later slots. It's just insane! There will be no issues with supply here, and I'm just trying to put in my usual weekly shop (a week in advance). But everyone is spooked.

DH came back last night which is a relief. His immediate boss in Australia threatened him with disciplinary action for sending all the pool techs home (the shop he manages provides pool equipment, chemicals, and they do pool valets) and preparing to shut up shop but they are not an essential service so they had to shut down. Heck, all their suppliers were shutting down, so what were they supposed to sell people anyway? The next boss up actually rang DH later in the day to apologise. The shop was much busier than usual yesterday (the shop services a rather well off neighbourhood where the customers expect the shop and valets to run around after them) and they sold out of chlorine.

Anyway, hope everyone is having a great day.

And hopefully @Blooie comes back to us soon and lets us know she and her family are ok.

Glad to hear your DH is home Jae! And glad that things were straightened out with his bosses.

Me too! Not sure why... I texted her to see how she was doing but haven’t heard back. I don’t know if there’s anything that can be done for them other then to run it’s course?
