The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

slow due to the frost a couple of times a week , took three weeks for my peas to come up, thought we were going to have re-plant both them and the onions bulbs again but finally they came up.
whats yours doing?
i'll have to heal some before i plant anything else, some how i got something in my index finger and i got a blood infection sigh
Oh no! I hope you heal quickly!
I've harvested more artichokes and planted Gladiolus today. Got flowers on my squash plants and I bought a Rose of Sharon the other day. I'm trying hay and bunny poop as compost and mulch. Nasturtiums are blooming. I'm about done though, it's supposed to hit 100* this weekend :tongue

Sharron, sorry to hear about the blood infection...take care of yourself!

IM, I am green with envy on your gardening work.

Sue, good morning...hope you have a good Monday!

Sour, it's crazy the number of newcomers! I try to welcome them, but just can't keep up.

Good morning everyone. Off to welcome newcomers - that has become a full time job.
:frow Good morning Sour, have a great day... And that's certainly the truth.

Just finished the 'New Member' welcoming. Deep inside I wonder what will happen to all these new flocks.
:hmm Me too. I swear over the last week I've encountered 3 or more every day stating that they aren't allowed chickens but doing it anyway.

Those are the ones I always cringe over. Well, those and the newbies that decide to start off with 50+ chicks. :th
I sort of resemble that remark. :hmm I started with 9 pullets and a cockerel, then ordered 25 ducks, then 25 turkeys, then 25 delawares and 50 CX. before the year was out, I had raised and harvested 150 CX. But back then we had more hands to tend to the birds.

We are continuing to lockdown at 'level 4' until next Monday midnight. It doesn't affect businesses much because level 4 was in place until this Wednesday midnight anyway, and Monday is a public holiday here as well, so it's only been extended by 2 'working' days.

Our rate of transmission is at 0.48% and they've been doing random testing in 4 or 5 major cities and are yet to find a case out in the community. Sadly, the fact that it has got into a few aged care facilities means our death toll is currently 12.

DS is a bit cut up we can't go and get Hoppy yet but we still need to get her food and hay (which we'll have to order online then pick-up at the time they give us). And we have the ducklings to prepare for.
We are still waiting for when we will move off of isolation and get back to work here in California. Each State has a different process

I hope you can get the bunny soon!
