Yes! Spring sprung so late that I couldn't fire up the incubator until 3 weeks ago. It's in an insulated portion of my closed in porch, but no heat. It's a cabinet, but I still didn't want to take the chance.

cabinet incubators can hatch a lot of chicks too!

I had a dream about multiple twisters on the ground, and I was so busy watching them that I didn't head for shelter!

Well, I did get the incubator cleaned out. And washed the countertop. Late in the day is my busy time.

I had a dream on Tuesday that I was waist deep in a field of wet heavy snow and I was trying to get to the highway that was clear. My daytime stress is coming to bed with me.

Mine's a combo. The hatching tray can only hold so many eggs, but at least it allows me to stagger. 176 eggs can be incubating, while 50 or so can be hatching.

Spring has sprung for sure here. The trees are just starting to bud and the grass is just starting to green up. Now, if I could just stop getting the tractor stuck in the mud, everything will be golden.


My first hatch of the season should be starting today :wee I sold some hatching eggs, and people are reporting that some of their chantecler chicks have silver on their backs. Not good. I've got orders for about 100 chicks, so I think I'm going to have to put a lot more in the incubator. I'll be driving to British Columbia at the end of the month to pick up some chantecler chicks, in order to get some new blood in my line. I'll also be getting some brabanters! I can't wait!
